I've been a fan of wolfs and werewolves for a while but really want a mod that changes the current lycan model in skyrim to a regular wolf model. Anyone know of an mod like this that exists? if not would it be too hard to do? Just to be clear I want it to work EXACTLY how the current werewolf works, so being able to sprint / attack etc but as an actual wolf, not the lycan model. Thanks in advance :)

PrimalHunter Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Not Really, all you need to do is replace the werewolf animations with ones that could support a wolf model. It is possible to edit, replace or make entirely new animations in Skyrim. A "classic" werewolf, like what furaii wants, could in theory function with the skyrim werewolf coding, as long as you edit the proper animations into it. For example:There are many different female walking animation mods (ie. the High Heel Walk & Catwalk mods). They are all different from the original Vanilla walking animation, but they all use the same core coding, and thus function exactly the same. A classic werewolf's animations for walking, running, sprinting, attacking, & feeding would all be different from a modern/Skyrim werewolf, but all the original core coding wouldn't need to be edited as long as the model was large enough for the attack hitboxes (and given that most classic werewolves were at least 5 foot at the shoulder, that shouldn't be a problem.) You would just need to use the wolf animations, or, as would be with the case of the killing move animations, create whole new animations for it. And just for the sake of looking cool, editing the wolf model for the werewolf to make it look shaggier, bulkier, and more terrifying. A minimal amount of core recoding would be required.
