Psiberzerker Posted July 3, 2012 Share Posted July 3, 2012 Other than the general glitchy scripting, I have relatively few complaints. Except when it comes to magic. I don't know if anyone would be willing to work on this with me, or work these ideas into their own Mods, but here they are, for what they're worth: Auras: Constant casts not unlike Cloak Spells, or Wards in some cases, but with different effects. Fairly high cost, (comperable to Wards) but that's offset by being fairly powerful. Illusion, for instance, could start with a Fear Aura, to keep the weenies, and melee'ers back where you can zot them, or something at Apprentice level. Adept would bump this up to Calm, or Aura of Peace. Keep the level low, (but dual castable) so this won't drive off Bandit Chiefs right out the gate, but give a starting Illusionist some Defense against Skeevers, Wolves, and low level Bandits. Also an Aura of Purity which turns Draugr, and Skelitons, and also buffs Poison Disease Resistance in Restoration. That kind of thing. I can't see the use for an Aura of Rage, so nominal friendlies start attacking you, but maybe script in some Scrolls to surprise someone who doesn't think it through. I mean Guards, Followers, Shopkeepers, Bunnies, and Chickens, anything within Cloak range piles on like Skinheads. Not each other, just you, for like 30 seconds. (Not unlike J'zargo's Experimental Scrolls.) Just drop it in the chest with the spellbooks, or whatever. While I'm on Illusion, how about some actual Illusions? Could you maybe reproduce the Fiik Lo Sah effect, so a decoy pops out long enough for everyone to attack it, then diasppears. Not unlike a Conjuration, but 1 hitter quitter with no offensive value that just might clump together into the AoE for Frensy, or Fireball. Also an Aura Whisperesque effect, that gets them to turn around. I can do this just casting Fury at a wall, instead of firing an arrow, but there should be a Distracting Noise sound to make them go "What was that?" over there. Practically free Cantrip, like 15 Magicka, but that's all it does. A Blinding Flash, or Obscuring Cloud might be nice, but if that's too much for Illusion, some of these could be Alteration. A Constant Cast Paralysis would be neat. Hideously mana intensive, worse than a Ward, and probably Adept level before the projectile version comes out. Also very short range, not far out of 2 handed reach. Paralysis seems to be the Alteration Offense, so why not give it a little more variety. Single target, as long as your magicka holds out, but it'll probably drain you quick if you're too low level to cast Paralyze. Also, move Detect Undead to Restoration. Dual Cast would allow you to hold a higher level (cap it like Illusion/Turning effects) and there you go. Just call it Hold. A staggar spell would be neat too, and it would probably be here, just don't call it "Force Push." Why not just "Stagger" about as effectiva as Fus, without Ro'dah. Restoration doesn't need much fixing. Maybe just the Halo of Purity (30 second Aura of turn undead, poison, and disease resistance) or Blessing, whatever. probably Adept, there's a spell gap at that level, unless you wanted to make it Master? Yeah, that's probably better, matches up with BotUD, and GC better, and the dual cast for 3 seconds rooted to the spot would ballance it. Conjuration, more summons, Skeleton, Sabercat... I know, there's piles of Mods out there, but you got to do something here. I'd really like a Bound Shield, if it's at all doable About Ebony protection, goes up to daedric with mystic Binding. Further perks on that branch don't affect it (Unless you want to code Turn/Banish on a Bash.) At least a Dagger. That's all, something on active defense for all the indirect offense, shouldn't be all that hard. An Expert AoE Soul Trap too. Anything dies in that area during the 15, or 20 second duration, it's soul is your's. Not unlike Circle of Protection, only instead of Turn Undead, Soul Trap. If they leave, and die, you don't get the soul. Sound's doable. Destruction is it's own subject. I suspect it could be dialed in with another rank of Augment Elements at 90, and some moar spellz. Flame wave (Ice storm, but on fire) and I'd straight up change Cloaks to Constant Cast. Or Flame/Frost/Lightning Sheild, like Wards, but with no protective value, and made of damage. Apprentice level, like 5 DPS, real costly. Just more possible ways to sling the elements around. And some Elemental Resistance, either as perks, or secondary effects to the Shield spell. 20% isn't too much? I could go on, but I won't unless I think I've got some interest in working on it with me. Or add them to your own WiPs, all I ask is you tell me, I'll even playtest.
