LHammonds
This seemed a bit confusing to me when I first looked at it. I initially thought (based off the title) that this was about what modder's used the most but then I wondered if it was about what modders mod for or personally prefer. But the paragraph inside makes me think it is just a matter of what "everyone" is using which inherently means the most popular (and well-supported) body replacer. Since I am a bit confused about this, I will just give my own opinion on the matter as a modder and player. As a modder: - I build first and foremost for the standard Oblivion body. Why? Because it is the only "standard" body model that there is and everyone has it to start with. - For females, I prefer the Exnem's Eye Candy or Fantasy Figure bodies but since HGEC was released, it corrected the problems I had with the original Eye Candy (mainly the shoulders, arms, hips) so currently, the Eye Candy body is the next priority for a body model to conform my mods to (if anything at all). - For males, I prefer Robert's muscular body. This is just how Conan is...end of story. As a player: - Well, I don't really play Oblivion anymore but if I did, it would be with HGEC and Robert's muscular body. HouseAtlantic
Not really, Female Bodies: GrowlfsHGECFantasy FiguresBabExnemRoberts I forgot about Bab, that body mod is historyalso Growlf's is made compatible with exnem correct? like i said i leave out hgec because of all the different variations. I would say that leaves about 3 base models and the varieties are just add-ons or slightly edited versions of them. closer to three than not. an entirely new body mod with its own mesh and textures we might never see happen again to TES IV
russader
LOL! Use growlfs tops with a bare Eye Candy Bottom and you'll see that while Growlfs is FAR From compatible. HGEC while having a large multitude of different types, the "Standard" HGEC , as in the one you download with the original 1.1 version before all the variations, seems to be accepted by HGEC fans as being the standard. It's appearance, even the fighter, seems to be closest to original Exnem thus modder like it the most as it allows more compatibility. The next up in the well excepted is the Hcup. This has a definate advantage as it allows some NPCs to be equipt with that clothing to make a unique NPC that is bustier. Unclick the playable option on the clothing in CS and throw in a "Standard" version of the same cloths, now you have a busty charector that you can get their clothing and will still look right on yourself. To say leave out HGEC all together is rather BS. It is gaining more and more support just over the last three months the # of outfits designed explicitly for HGEC has more than doubled. and if you look at them, they are eigther all standard or Dcup fighter which are so close they can be used together without a Non-modder ever noticing. So that is why I listed them the way I did. Variations don't count. But base does. so again the options sould be. Growlfs (All different variations)HGEC (All different variations)Fantasy Figures (All different variations) and yes even it has variationsBabExnemRoberts And that's just the females. BossDweebe
I'll try to stay on topic here, but things do tend to be intermeshed. I'm currently using HGEC female body with different texture for different races.I have used all the different nipples from Ozmo, and some of the hairs. My favourite though is Nachtritter's texture. All that hair is so much more mid-evilthan all the Brazilian jobs others use. He also has a few veins and blemishes which I find morerealistic than those super blemish free textures. I have also used several of Growlf's tattoos. they can be resized and turned or flippedwith the Gimp, and slide on like transfer decals. Great stuff.... One thing I still have a problem with however is that everyone seems to be giving the boobssilicone implants. I not talking about size (lots of real girls do have em') I'm talking aboutlack of sag. Just a little bit would be more natural, and would go well with the "bounce" mods.Growlf - as good as he/she ? is at making armours and clothes (I like those clasping hands)has zero sag. Just not real outside Hollywood. For the men folk I use Roberts - of course - Same as above with the retex, I've used hairs, and tats from those mentioned above plus created a few tats of my own, and to make the shock and awe complete I use Slof's newest Dangle. And to sort out the problem with NPC's having their textures messed up while in shirts with no sleeves and short pants I use Grhys female clothes and armour replacer with some of Dude 2000'sskimpy tops, and Sen-Chan's male clothes and armour replacer. So ends a complicated answer to a simple question :whistling:
shandrill
Thanks all I am getting some really good answers from all and all of them give me new perspectives. Me personally I had been using Renn's but there seemed to be something incomplete looking that I never liked and I also found that i had trouble getting Modded clothes that would look good and had functional amour. There was a reason why I didn't use the Exems all those moons ago but I cant remember it now. I think it was Rens Mystic Elf that convinced me in the end. I played with that Toon for a very long time a couple of months with the mods I had and completed a fair bit of the quests over time. I then I came back to Nexus to have a look at the Mods situation and looked into the body replacers again and was stunned at the progress of Exems which had morphed into HG.But I wasnt willing to start a new Toon as I had gone so far with the other (At this point I BEG you not to point out what is now glaring obvious to me with that stupidity lol) ( :wallbash: :stupid: Well to cut a long story short I lost my saves thanks to a Mishap so now I get to start again, but this time i want to do it properly. With a RP'ed Character, one that I can relate to and care about so I have been researching feverishly finding the right combinations of non cheat mods to set up the world I plan to give her life in. And not wanting to make the same body mistake again I got the idea of asking. Of course things tend to grow and when I did finally get around to asking I noticed that nearly all the amour for the Lass's were not a fit for my Character , too revealing, and the ones that weren't were very masculine, and instead of complaining I will make my own but want to make sure that it goes toward a body replacer where it will get the most use. I also like to know a lot of information and different perspectives before I start anything. I have already started modding based on what you guys have said and I thank you all for your point of views and responses. Please add more opinions about any of the body replacers, or even if you think there is a BR that is under appreciated drop a line. PS BossdweebeThanks for the info about the hairs I hadn't thought of that. I want her to be a women not a girl :D and that is a good start. :whistling: :verymad:
SickleYield
What on earth is Renn's? I'd actually never heard of it. I use and mod for Fantasy Figures and GGC_Blind (a very slender FF variation) and Robert's Average males. If the BodyVariants mod takes off like I'm hoping, I will probably expand to support BAB and Robert's females as well. I don't care for Exnem's, though I have the greatest respect for Exnem himself.
