I don't have any animations. Would appreciate any help I can get.

Basically, my character is stuck just like this NPC in the picture attached in this weird T-shaped form. I can attack still, hear the movement sounds, move, etc... but I never change, no animation takes place. Can someone help me out? I tried downloading Fores and, when nothing worked, I tried deleting it and this happened.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had this problem earlier today, when I accidentally installed Fores for the 1.6 patch (which I haven't be bothered to install). All animations died, I could still move and attack but all NPCs were stuck and completely helpless.

The only thing I can think of is reinstalling the 1.6 patch, if you have it. When you uninstalled Fores, it probably yanked the updated animation control file (or rather that's when I'm assuming that main file is) that 1.6 presumably adds.

If you DON'T have 1.6...well, I dunno. Fores works by overriding original game files stored in BSA archives, so uninstalling it from a pre-1.6 game shouldn't have any ill effects, I wouldn't think.

Do you happen to know where I can download 1.6 again? :D

Eugh, Steam.

Steam should have the ability to run a full file check, when it finds the 1.6-installed file missing it should redownload it automatically. Or, you could just reinstall the whole game. The former is probably preferable unless you like reinstalling mods :\

I don't think there's an official alternative, since Bethesda doesn't seem to offer Skyrim patches on their site.

Unofficially, simply reinstalling Fores for 1.6 should "fix" it, since I'm pretty sure all the main file from Fores is is the official file with Fores code added for other mods to use. That is to say, it's completely harmless, even if you can't get it working as it's supposed to.

Tried downloading Fores again and nada. Oh well, thanks for the help. I'm going to hunt down all the mods I have presentally and hope I can get my game back to what it was. :x

Figuring out how to run a file check with Steam is still the best option...

Failing that, were it me, I would copy all the esps you have installed and folders in \Data\ (meshes, textures, sounds, etc) somewhere else, back up your configuration files, and reinstall/repatch the game. Reinstall stuff that goes in the root Skyrim folder (ENB, SKSE, and the like). Once done, drop all your esps back in and put the folders back where they belong, run the launcher once and then copy your configuration files back in. With any luck, NMM (or whatever mod management you use) won't even notice the difference, and everything will work fine.

Just to be safe, you might want to delete the meshes\actors\character\animations folder first, to make sure you get all traces of Fores out.

It's not as "clean" as manually reinstalling everything, sure, but it's certainly faster :v
