MarkusTay
I can't believe no-one has done this yet (unless they have, and I just haven't come across it). I want JUST THE BULB part of the light that lights up (with a nearby power-node, of course). So many times I want to FIX EXISTING LIGHTS and can't, because I either can't glitch an existing lamp into it correctly (some are on angles, some don't allow you to intersect, even with 'Place Anywhere', etc., etc.) Some examples I've run into - the torch-lamps in the back of Taffington (I windup have to just replace them with the vanilla ones and shrink them down), most of the ceiling fixtures around sanctuary, street-lights (not in Sanctuary itself, since we have replacers for those and the broken vanilla ones actually make insanely good turret towers) - I use a mod that extends Hangman's Alley out toward the water, and I have all those wonderful streetlights there along the promenade that I can't get to look right (and they are very different than the two included in the workshop). A lot of assets added by other mods have lamps on tables/desks/etc that DO NOT LIGHT. There are tons more examples... I JUST WANT TO CHANGE THE BULB. Not a whole new lamp - just make some 'glowing balls' (of varying intensities and perhaps even shades (bright, yellowish, etc.). In fact, sometimes you just want to make the vanilla lights brighter, and this would work for that as well (like those ceiling fans). Come to think of it, the ceiling fans could use some 'light kits' just like in RL. I even have the perfect name for said mod - "Just Change the Damn Bulb!"
jkruse05
Settlement Objects Expansion Pack has numerous 'invisible' light sources, of varying intensities and colors, including directional ones. Pretty close to what you want. They're kinda buried in the menus though, so you might have to dig a bit. They look like chrome balls in the menu and in build mode.I used to have several mods installed to fix various light fixtures, but now I just use those and call it good. wysiwyg
Most of the standard workshop lights seem to use 15 watt incandescent bulbs.

I will take a better look at it, but from what I can see right off the bat is that I wouldn't want that - 1500-2000 new objects in my settlement menu? It already takes me forever to scroll trough them to find the things I do use (I use at least five large mods that do similar, plus dozens of other mods that also add items and categories... its a real mess). I guess what I need to do is get better at modding myself, so I can pick-&-choose what I want from certain mods - most of the ones I have are like this - I only want a couple of things and the mods add hundreds (and supposedly in this case, THOUSANDS) of items I will never bother with. I have entire menu categories I have never opened. I just want some bulbs, dammit. LOL
jkruse05
Yeah, Settlement Objects Expansion is kindof a competitor with Homemaker, so there's a ton of stuff. I started using it early on because it didn't mess with menus in the way that Homemaker did. The only other option I've found is this, but you can't move or remove the lights once they are placed with that one. I have a huge list of potential future mods, so there is never any guarantee I'll get to any specific one, but I'll add this to it.
MarkusTay
Thank you. If you ever want me to help with a skin, let me know. I'm a wiz with PS and GIMP - I just don't want to 3D model (did one once in Blender. it came out okay, but it was WAY too much work). I'm dying to do my own mods, but not being good with Blender limits what I can do (not to mention my couple of abortive attempts at it so far).
