Vanguardascendant
Is there a good place to go to find out what gets updated with each new version of Fallout 4 released? It would be great to know if it's worth updating my game versus just rolling back to the previous version.
Undeadbob666
They used to tell you on the Bethnet site, but they just stopped posting updates at some point. However I have not check in months, so maybe they are posting them now?
Evangela
I don't know about the main site itself.. but on the forums, Bethesda has never been vocal at length about anything. Updates are inconsistent.
zanity
???- the updates are for the Creation Club alone. Microtransactions- Todd Howard's obsession that has burned Bethesda to the ground. I know this seems 'puzzling'. Why would new items in the store need to break the .exe. Protip- they don't. But by breaking the .exe, Todd hopes to break your attachment to free Nexus mods, get you to finally give in and accept a Creation Club exclusive Fallout 4 experience. I'm, sorry, but how can anyone at this point think Bethesda an 'honest player'? Does Todd Howard have to visit your own home and punch you in the nose to finally get his true position across? There are outlets that describe the new additions to the CC, so they are also detailing the Fallout 4 'updates' that you request. Just because you may not like this answer does not mean it is not true. Sadly- very very sadly- those that support Fallout 4 with their modder tools DEMAND thast you respect the Todd, and keep your game updated to the latest version. Yeah, they offer older versions of the tools, but have a clear policy that anyone using Fallout 4 should always kneel down at the foot of Bethesda and thank them sincerely for any horror Beth inflicts on the gamers- after all it's not as if the gamer PAID Bethesda- oh, wait! What all this means is that modding FO4 is a bit more painful than it needs to be- but the pain can be tolerated for modder convenience. Don't allow Beth to update your game, and freeze the version of the mod tools you use. Then monitor your experience, and ONLY if mod devs insist on a particular update to keep your fav mods working to you consider moving to a new 'version' of FO4. But do NOT trust Bethesda or give them any good will. They do not deserve it, and certainly will not give you a better experience for it. No AAA game dev currently has a worse attitude to their paying customer base. Beth no longer supports Nexus modding to any degree- it expects this place to wither and die. We go on DESPITE Bethesda. PS as many have explained over the years, the UNNOFFICIAL patch for Skyrim and Fallout 4 fixes thousands of bugs and documents said bugs. Yet Beth has released new versions of these games years later with the SAME bugs. Too damn lazy to even take the community work and apply it internally to the latest code base. It really does not get worse than this. I know of no major software house in or out of gaming this atrocious. So no informed person expects any new .exe update from Beth to serve any useful purpose. Vanguardascendant
Thanks all. If the updates are just for the CC content, I guess it doesn't matter. But if it's about the game itself, such as bug fix or driver update, that would be good to know.
