Skyrim more fun on the 360?

The reason I don't understand is because the idea doesn't make sense TO ME.

There, I fixed it for you.

It's hard to understand things other people say when you don't make an attempt to put yourself in their situation. You have no idea what his dilemma is. Maybe he's having trouble with the mods installed, maybe they all sound better than they really are (that NEVER happens  )

Regardless, there's a pretty good moderator on this board, ben, who has a sig that reads,

"Sometimes I think we spend more time getting mods to work than we do playing the game - I know I do.

Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you went after.

When all else fails - Read the directions. (RTFM) "

With Oblivion and Morrowind. I spent the first week or two almost exclusively downloading and troubleshooting mods. Then i just add more on as i go. I will admit, i don't hate that part of it. Troubleshooting mods is half the fun for me even if it means staying up two days in a row.

But when i do get around to playing, the PC will give way more content thee the consoles. The best thing about the PC other then more content is how quickly bugs get eliminated by the community. There was this one bug in PS3 oblivion that made me completely give up on a 200+hour character.

The PC will definitely be my main Bethesda gaming platform, after learning from Skyrim. It gives much more replay value to the game than it does on consoles. But even though Skyrim on PC is more buggier on PC than it is for 360, the modding community will fix that and create a better game out of it, like Oblivion. :)

Do not change my words in a quote. If you are unable to answer a legitimate point without trolling, don't post at all.

I can probably play three times through in the vanilla game before I am completely bored, and that doesn't mean pushing all the way to level 80. The modding community gives the TES games so many different flavors. Even though I love Skyrim, I miss Oblivion to this day. And the mods I loved the most became part of the real game for me, like the Ayleid Steps and Unique Landscapes and Frostcrag Reborn. With all the extreme modder talents out there, I cannot deny myself the opportunity to experience their brilliance. So thank Akatosh that TES comes to us on the PC :D

(except for the damn shadow striping thing, for some reason fix mods make me crash... sigh...).

Have you tried an ENBSeries mod to fix your shadow striping? Mine in the sig should do the trick, since it has the shadow override functions enabled.

Anyway, if ENB crashes you try disabling xfire / msi afterburner overlay / etc for Skyrim, since those can conflict. But if you can get it to run it shouuuld fix the shadow bugs.

Edit: didn't mean to double post ;-;, tired.

@ Zinthros:

Nope, haven't tried ENB series yet, only specific mods that actually did remove the shadow striping beautifully, only to find out that they invariably happened to make me crash upon loading some cells after 1.6. I couldn't find a logical reason why but it nonetheless happened so I had to disable them. I've also tried a few lighting mods, some fog remover too, but got crashes again. The main reason is probably that my old nVidia GeForce GT 230 has a hard time with these...

Possibly also, my French UI sometimes gets confused with all these English mods I have. A sure sign to me that a mod is doing something to a particular cell is when I suddenly find myself loading "Proudspire" instead of "Hauteflèche" for instance (same cell, different name in French) even though I have absolutely no mod in Proudspire

I want to try ENB anyway, and will follow your advice when I do, but at the moment, I'm trying to regain the 5 levels I had to go back because of unexplainable crashes. I removed a dozen recent mods and am trying to recover a smooth game with my older, 70 or so mods. So far, so good... Once I'm back to my previous level 65, I'll try new mods again

Thanks for your advica, Zinthros! And cheers from Paris!..

@ ledmack:

Love your GIF anim at the bottom of your post!.. So well observed and so true!.. I guess you could also add Windows updates, security updates, firewalls, antivirus, Flashplayer, Adobe, Java... and several dozens other programs that keep running and auto-updating in the background and will never give you the option to disable them no matter what!.. (other than closing them one by one). That's why I try to be very careful before I blame any mod for possible crashes, I'm too well aware that my whole PC environment is constantly watching Skyrim as it runs, waiting for an opportunity to yell "Haha, got you!.." and zap it shut!.. :ohdear:

Cheers to all of you, friendly gamers!..

230 ... that may be difficult.

Make sure you use an ENB config without SSAO and without depth of field then, those would be killer for sure.

My laptop has a 310 and to get Skyrim running well I have to completely disable shadows for it.
