Sudden FPS Drop(s)

So as my title states.. I get 40-50 FPS, minimum of 30. Whilst playing the game my FPS suddenly drops to 1, then goes all the way back up to 30.. I'm wondering which of my mods could probably be causing the problem?

Here are my mods:

Oh and my game crashes when I try showracemenu on the console and look for other races :/

Thanks!

That normally happens to me if I start turning about really fast. FPS drops...then picks back up. But I've also been getting quite a bit of micro stuttering with this newest driver update.

Upon further consideration, it is quite likely due to the textual replacers I have as well. I have the standard top three on STEP guide. I think I'll go low res.

Try capping your framerate at exactly 60, not more and not less. If it goes away, you'll know the problem is the 64Hz bug.

You can cap your framerate using a program like Nvidia Inspector (if you have an Nvidia card ofc), or using a mod like this one.

I'll try your solution sir, thanks! :)

EDIT: That didn't seem to fix the problem but only made it worse :( when I loaded the game, my fps started dropping like flies from 40 shooting down to a constant 15 fps super lag. Soo.. yeah I dont think that stutter thing's the fix. xD

I'll be trying this guy's remedy though:

EDIT #2: Nope it still didn't fix my problem.. I stilll get 'stutters' from 40-50 fps then a sudden shoot to 1 then runs back to where it was stable. :/ Help please :( I didnt have this back then, I can't figure which of my mods could 'possibly' be doing this nuisance -_-

How much RAM do you have, and how much VRAM does your graphics card have?

Also, do you know your HDD speed?

Try these ini edits as well. Make sure to put them in the correct sections, and back up your inis first.

Skyrim.ini

[Papyrus]

fUpdateBudgetMS=800

fExtraTaskletBudgetMS=800

fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=2000

bEnableLogging=0

bEnableTrace=0

bLoadDebugInformation=0

bEnableProfiling=0

Skyrimprefs.ini

[MAIN]

bGamepadEnable=0

I have 4GB of RAM and 2GB of VRAM.. with regards to HDD speed I am not sure.. Where can I see my HDD's speed for me to post it here aswell? :) I'll try those ini edits aswell. Thanks for your patience regarding my issue :$ Oh btw my laptop's an Acer 4750G, I din't use to have this issue till now I've been putting mods :/

EDIT: That ini edit messed up the game hahaha it was going at 5-6 FPS :))) I reverted it back to the old .ini also.. Could it not be any of my mods causing this random fps drops?

It could be, but I don't really see one that looks like it would do that. If it was, for example, Travelers of Skyrim, Civil Unrest, or maybe HD Rabbits+, I'd assume it was a problem with too many scripts being run through the cpu. I don't see any big performance decreasing mods though...

Did this just start to happen after patch 1.6? I've heard that the patch can cause stutter like what you're seeing.

Also, does running in windowed mode fix it? I'm not saying you'll need to run in windowed mode forever, but it's just to test for a bug.

Another thing to test is to see if the problem goes away if you play the game through the original Skyrim launcher, instead of with SKSE. I've heard that the 1.6 patch caused stutter with SKSE for some people, and if that's the case you might just have to wait for a fix or another update to Skyrim or SKSE.

I haven't had any problems with 1.6 since I updated it, after I installed them mods, that's where I was getting a random shooting of 1FPS running to 40 stable. xD

Ill try running on Window mode ty :) SkyUI gives me a warning that Im not running SKSE when I open via Launcher though, is that ok?

EDIT: Nope, doesn't solve the problem. Even in Windowed mode ran through Skryim Launcher the random FPS drops still occur. I'd like to add that in Properties > Compatibility, I ticked Disable Visual Themes aswell as Disable Desktop Composition, as I can't seem to take Screenshots with them unticked.

I'm out of ideas. I suppose you could enable your mods one at a time until you find out which one is causing the stutter.
