how many times?

How many times do I have to do "Animal Extermination" or "Escaped Prisoner" for the companions before better/different quests will become available from Aela or Vilkas? Farkas won't even give me a quest...Who else is there now that I'm the harbinger?

The game keeps telling me to ask the Companion leaders for work but it seems I'm getting repeats of jobs I've already done or completed successfully...not always specific repeats--one time Animal Extermination will be a wolf, the next a bear, etc., but with the Radiant quest system, I'm not sure they're really new at all.

At some point, just for the novelty of it, I would like to cure my lycanthropy...

The quests don't get any better, so you can just consider the Companions over and done with. Unfortunately, the quest lines in Skyrim are all fairly short. It makes me miss Oblivion. :pinch:

Since you're a werewolf, after some Animal Extermination quests you're supposed to get (3) Totems of Hircine quests from Aela. Though you might have to use console to "resetquest CR12 0" 'cuz, at least in my game, skyrim keeps thinking the quest is active. I actually only found out about the quests accidentally while reading something on Wiki and, by using "srs CR12" I saw that my game indeed showed stages 1 and 2 complete. I had to resetquest for each of the 3 totems quests.

Aela will replace your active follower if you go with her to fetch one of the T's of H.

I think you have to do 1 or 2 more animal exterminations between fetching the 2nd and third Totems of Hircine. Also, I couldn't get Aela's T of H dialogue unless I handed in an Animal Extermination quest, then exited dialogue, then asked her for work again.

To cure your Lycanthropy, the "Purity" quest is supposed to trigger by asking either Farkas or Vilkas for work while having a Glenmoril witch head in your inventory, as they also want to cure their beast blood. Though you'll need 2 heads if you want to cure yours too. Good luck in actually doing the quest though, I've tried a few times and each time the particular companion followed my char to Ysgramor's tomb but then turned around and headed back to Whiterun. (Had to reset my follower count to 0 because the game still thought they were a follower and wouldn't let me recruit anyone else.) There's supposedly a few, rather bizarre workarounds (search Wiki) to this, from what I can gather very common, bug but I couldn't be bothered. I was actually thinking of posting a "Has Anyone Actually Completed 'Purity'?" thread here to see if, yeah, anyone's actually been able to do it without jumping through the hoops described in the Wiki workarounds.

For Companion leaders who won't give you work, you might have to reset the particular quest as well (each of the fetch trinket/ fetch hostage/ kill animal/ kill escapee quests has a particular CR# - wiki has 'em listed). Though that seems to be hit and miss. And you might have to exit/re-enter Jorvasskr before resetting to reset the cell and to avoid, what happens in my game anyways, the game resetting stages 1 and 2 as complete every time my char enters Jorvaskkr again.

the quest with alea to get hircine totem.

Go the Falkenreath inn ( death someting) look around and talk to the people. one of them talks about the men in jail. i do this ever with alea and get the hircine totem quest everytime.

And one time farkas would kill a dragon go with him and help him killing the dragon.

I don't understand. I am the head of the companions, as well. I killed the witches at Glenmorill coven and cured Kodlak. But I've not gotten a significant quest from the Companions since. I don't have any witches heads in my inventory. I don't remember any reason to have collected more than one of them....?

I don't remember the Totem of Hircine Quest, when does that happen? (I did Ill met by Moonlight.

There's a option to wipe out the witches at Glenmoril, there are five in total

Farkas and Vilkas eventually wont to be cured of lycanthropy after the old companions leader is killed and then cured and Aela is the one with the three totem quests, but you might have to do animal exterminations in between each totem quest

this is Aela the Huntress

I think you're talking about the quest with the Ring of Hircine where you hunt down the werewolf. That's different from the 3 Totems of Hircine quests.

@ Sinnerman69 - cool, so it is possible to do "Purity" without quest-breaking bugginess. Maybe I'll try again.

It takes a long time to search the caves where the five witches of Glenmoril are, I ended up using tcl command to find the last witch in the cave

if you only killed one witch and then left and cured the dead companion leader, it might be possible to return to the cave where the Glenmoril witches are, if you can recall the location that is!..

Yes, I can do that and it appears that at least one other of them still has her head...at least the body does.

Then what?
