ShadowOfNV
Hello, I recently started working on a personal house mod and ran into an odd issue. I want to have a powered post-war TV in the house mod, now I know this sounds simple, just use the TEMP_TelevisionTrailer_TEMP TV, but I use the color TV mod and that TV only comes in black and white. The prewar variant comes in color, so the texture mod effects that TV but not the post-war one. I looked up the nif (SetDressing\PlayerHouse_Ruin\Television_Trailer.nif) and found the dds texture file it uses (textures\Effects\TVAnim\RasterScanAnim_d.dds). I took the texture file from Color TVs and renamed it to RasterScanAnim_d.dds and replaced the old black and white one, but that didn't work, the tv was still black and white but it would flash colors in the corner and have this weird shadowy bars flickering all over the tv. So now i'm stumped, how can I get the Temp_TelevisionTrailer_Temp to use color tvs textures? If I can't is it possible to get the workshop tvs to be powered in my house mod, if so how would I go about getting power into my house mod so the tv can turn on? Ontop of that, I can't seem to get lights to work either. They're not powered on. Edited December 11, 2018 by ShadowOfNV
AGreatWeight
You could use the mod Videos of the Wasteland, it adds a framework for working TV's (both pre-war and post-war variants of the Radiation Kings, as well as new custom models) that can be placed in your settlement/s.Besides the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. vids that come included with the mod, there's a varied selection of additional mods that add new content to play on the TV's; check the VotW description page for links to them all. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/24435

The TVs I place won't power on.
Nadywen
Thanks a lot for the ideas. In general, I don't know much about technology and children always help me understand how everything works and it's hard for me to keep up with fashion and modern technologies, but I don't give up. Recently I learned how to use the Jio tv app for movies and series and I really like that whenever I have free time I can search there everything I want to watch and it is very interesting to me. Especially since I'm old and I often have no occupation, it saves me a lot and I spend my time in an interesting way. pepperman35
For power, you will need to setup a power grid for your player home. This cannot be done in the CK and must be done in FO4Edit. Alternatively, you could place a generator, and connectors in the CK and do the wiring in game.
niston
Furthermore, if player already visited the settlement before installing the mod, the power grid as defined in the mod will not get loaded by the game and it will instead use the power grid from the save game. dylbill
If you want your tv's to be always powered, you can attach a simple script to them and they will act like they are powered. Event OnLoad() Self.PlayAnimation("Reset") Self.PlayAnimation("Powered")EndEvent
DieFeM
Really? Nobody noticed that Nadywen necroed the topic just to say thank you (which breaks at least 2 forum rules), and everyone else is answering like if it were a new one? PS: and I'm falling in to vigilantism, I know, but given the laxity of the moderation...
