MichaelRD
So i just got my hands on Skyrims and sadly my graphic cards isnt strong enough to run Skyrim without annoying lags. I already researched about perfomance mods to increase the FPS but some of them have no expanations on how to install them or probably don´t even work. Searching thru all the mods on the forums wouldn´t be only bothersome but at least pointless if i don´t know exactly what im looking for, and thats why (And i apologize for my lazyness) Ask for help in a new topic. Simply all i want is to stop the lag even and at the same time know how to install mods.I hav tried to tweak the .ini files but somehow it doesn´t let me (Yes im doing this using an administrator account). What i mean with it doesn´t let me i mean it won´t let me save the file. The only mod i have tried was some better perfomance mod that consisted in a single file (This mod was called Skyrim Better perfomance mod v1.1a) named d3d9.dll wich i just moved to the skyrim folder thinking it would work obviously it didn´t. If this isn´t the place to ask for links to mode or ¨troubleshoot¨may i knows which is the right part of the forum. I have been following The elder scrolls games saga since morrowind and im seriously hoping to continue.
JackNitro
You say you've tried tweaking the .ini files? do you mean the files in Documents\My Games\Skyrim? Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini shouldn't require admin privilidges at all - you should be able to open them in notepad, edit them, then save. I know I've had plenty of problems with d3d9.dll, as well, and I'm on a higher-end pc. Have you tried TESVAL, by any chance? It requires patch 1.3 I believe, nothing newer, and the corresponding version of skse. If that doesn't work, try SkyBoost. I believe that this also requires 1.
MichaelRD
It opens in a notepad but when im about to save them it pops up an error ¨access denied¨unable to save the ¨tweaks¨. Thanks for answering
Korodic
neither TESVAL nor Skyboos are needed since the latest patches. However I saw one the other day that reliefs bottlenecks... EDIT: found it... http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15123

EDIT: found it... http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15123 The other suggestion sadly didn´t work. My patch is 1.4 something im not sure and AlgoBoost worked but only by a little. The fps enchant was barely noticeable.
gsmanners
Another way to boost your frame rate is with shadow remover/optimizer mods. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19632http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/16464http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10789
kevkiev
It opens in a notepad but when im about to save them it pops up an error ¨access denied¨unable to save the ¨tweaks¨. Thanks for answering Your ini must be set to read only. Right click and check "properties" and ditch the read-only from "attributes."
MichaelRD
Appearently the TESVAL file made the AlgoBoost not work properly. Now it runs smoothly eithr it is that or the window mode.

Thanks for answering Your ini must be set to read only. Right click and check "properties" and ditch the read-only from "attributes." It wasn´t on read only and when i change it to read only a different ¨error¨appears about the file being a read-only. If not it only pops up an ¨access denied¨.
