Laptop RAM

I didn't really know a better place to post this. So if this topic is in the wrong area, you can just delete it or move it.

Here's the story. I bought 1GB of DDR2 RAM (200-pin at 667MHz) awhile ago. Unfortunately, I didn't find out that it wasn't compatible with my laptop until much later. My PC uses 533MHz and not 667MHz. -_- So now I have this useless stick of RAM here and I can't get rid of it. I would sell it on ebay, but my father doesn't want to make an account and sell stuff there for information reasons. I can sort of understand that... That leaves me with no options really. I know no one who would buy it from me personally. The point for posting this here is to see if anyone out of the 1000s of members would be interested in buying this 1GB of RAM from me. I know this sounds weird, but you can email me your mailing address and I'll email mine to exchange the RAM/money. I am selling it for $35.00. My email address is: [email protected]

The problem with doing something like this outside of e-bay, like you are, is that it is much harder to track down to an actual person. Hence the reason why you need to provide so much for an e-bay account. If the deal were to go foul, on either end, one person would be screwed, and the other able to walk away with little to no connection to the incident. Stuff like this is best off being handled face to face, or through some trustworthy intermediary. Although I'm sure your story is legit, these days it's impossible to know for sure, and who knows, you could be the one who gets screwed in the end.

Vagrant0 is right.

Why can't you just return it (lost receipt or what)?

A pawn shop may be an option but I doubt it.

I have an old laptop, I can see if I could use it but like Vagrant0 said I would not send you money (check) before I got it & I wouldn't go to the trouble for anything more than $20.00.

Yes, you're both right... The reason I can't return it is because it has been to long since i bought it. I discovered it wasn't compatible too long after I purchased it. :( Do you have any suggestions? Do you think a store like best buy or tiger direct (i just use tiger direct as an example. i hate the place) would be somewhere to try to sell it?

You can also post your offer here http://forum.notebookreview.com/forumdisplay.php?f=18, but make sure you read the rules of it http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=45297

You, actually, need to register (for free) and since you're a laptop user you may find many other useful information, technically speaking and not only.

I hope you gonna find a solution for your problem there. I'm also one of the members at this forum (almost 6 years) and I did bought and sold a lot of hardware, not that this will guarantee to solve your problems.

Hope this helps with your matter.

Good Luck!

Post Edit: You can use PayPal without the need to register to eBay.

Since the purpose of the thread was to find information, and many have offered it. Time for this to close.

A reminder that:

It is not proper to advertise items for sale on the forums.
