MissFlapper
I'm currently making a bottlecap texture. I put it into nifskope to see it, and a white box appears around it. I tried making the texture background transparent, white, and black. Transparent and white looked the same with the white box. The black just changed the box to black. Any help would be appreciated. madmongo
Find the bottle cap object in NifSkope (not the collision, the actual bottle cap mesh). Right click on it, click on Block, then click on Insert, then find and select NiAlphaProperty. You'll need to set the texture parts back to transparent. When I do that it makes the whole bottlecap transparent. Edited December 21, 2018 by antonanton789
madmongo
What program are you using to edit the texture with, and how are you saving the file (i.e. what options, like dxt1, dxt3, mip-map generation, etc)? Maybe your problem is on the texture side and not on the nif side.
MissFlapper
I'm using Photoshop CS6 with the Nvidia plugins. DXT1 RGB 4 bpp | no alpha Generrate mip maps - All Edited December 25, 2018 by antonanton789
madmongo
The alpha setting seems wrong, but I use GIMP and Paint.Net. I can't help you with Photoshop. If i remember correctly, you need DXT3 or DXT5 for transparencies to work correctly. I personally use DXT5 and that works in-game. You want it to generate mip-maps so that part looks correct to me.
