Am I the only person who thinks enb is less realistic?

Just wondering, not trolling.

But I've noticed that most of screenshots that get the most endorsements are always labeled as enb. I tried enb awhile back, and found that it was way over saturated, and this blurry effect in the background almost hurts my eyes. And it hit fps really hard. Is it mainly that people like the pictures, or do they actually think the game looks more realistic? Because I don't.

Depends on your settings, I suppose. The actual lighting effects it gives, like ambient occlusion, indirect lighting, etc do make lighting much more realistic. But other things, especially the FXAA settings if your ENB comes with one, along with brightness settings, contrast settings, etc etc can make it more realistic or less. You just have to mess with settings a bit to make it work best for you personally.

I've seen a lot of ENBs that have made the game too saturated, too contrasted, too colored towards a certain direction, etc that make it far less realistic, but some people prefer it a certain way.

I get the same color by turning up the saturation in the Imaginator, without a fps hit.

I think one thing that is really popular is the DoF effect, that does look like an artistic camera shot, but I really think it doesn't look realistic at all.

I mean, I couldn't imagine trying to fight a dragon blur in the sky, and I also don't think my eyes would be that bad if I was actually there.

Anyways, if people say they like a game to look more cartoony, then I'll totally understand.
