  1. This might be a pointless question, but do they have an AI package? An npc without AI will just stand there. Also, they need to belong to an enemy faction to consider you an enemy.
  2. I'm not sure how random they can be. AI packages need a schedule.
  3. Seems like a waste of time, but if you really didn't want to kill anyone, then you'd run through the Helgen Keep and after leaving, simply make your way to a town and live there permanently. You can't do any questline without killing someone. Followers and summoned creatures are still killing in your place. You have to face the facts that the quests are set up for a hero who has to kill. It's that simple. You might be able to sneak by most enemies, but there will always be one quest where someone is required to die.
  4. I have no complaints. $5 is really nothing these days. It costs me twice as much just to eat one meal. I probably would have payed the same price just for an update, so extra content is always welcome, no matter what it does. Skyrim is just that damn good.
  5. Removing an esm like hearthfire will ruin your data because a lot of information is still recorded in your save. Adding the esm again doesn't undo the damage because it will only make a new copy of the esm, it won't replace what you removed before.
  6. I learned within my first couple hours of playing back in November simply to see if you could. I really don't want any NPC to get killed because it leaves the world barren. I used to use the killable children mod, but then I found out that children will play adult animations if you remove their child status, and you'll see them become gigantic monsters when cooking or using the alchemy labs, and since I never killed them anyways, I stopped using that mod. Immortal is the right word. They are beyond essential because they can't even take damage. Seems pretty ridiculous that a game that tries to be more realistic would add children and then break the entire purpose to take some kind of moral stance. Like murdering an adult is acceptable but children aren't? Whoever made that decision was a real pansy. They must have been trying to spare people the heart break of watching a child get swallowed whole by a dragon. I remember watching Ralofs nephew get flamed to death by a dragon. I felt so bad for him, I just had to bring him back to life. That's probably when I realized that the mod was pointless to have.
  7. Because the answer is obvious. Why does it even need to be asked? Why does anyone get married? It's called LOVE. If you can pretend to fight dragons and cast magic, why can't you pretend to fall in love? Obvious answer is obvious.
  8. The Breezehome CTD is caused by the USKP. There is a beta update to fix this issue. I finished the DB, and bought the Dawnstar home simply buy setting the Jarls relationship rank to 2.
  9. A better question is why not? If you have no use for it, don't use it. Most people get married, so it's realistic that a character in a game would as well. What purpose does being Dragonborn or Archmage really serve? They are just titles to make you believe your character has a story. In that story, he might also be in love and want to get married. I think people get too confused about issues that are pretty simple. It's more that they are concerned that someone else in the world might be pretending to have a virtual wife, but most people probably aren't. And for the ones who are, who cares? Do you really need to ride such a high horse to survive? Play your own game and stop being such a critic of everyone else.
  10. Well, the player doesn't have to purchase more than one home, so a variety of choices doesn't hurt. Would have been cool if they had an owner before you purchased them so they wouldn't stay empty. As for your second reply (which I didn't quote), I was unaware of all those features, and I think it will feel more like a dlc now. Thanks.
  11. It basically adds three plots... One in Hjaalmarch, one in the Pale, and one in Falkreath. And it adds some new children, with new dialogue and the ability to adopt, plus one add-on for Breezehome. This sounds small, but the houses might be loaded with content, I haven't built them yet. You can't get much for $5 these days, so it is worth the price, but like I said, feels more like an update than a dlc.
  12. Oh yea Winterhold. I think I wrote that off as the Arch-Mages quarters. Anyways... 9 holds where you can become Thane seems like there should be a house for each title. Just feels right since there was a player home in each city in Oblivion. But it doesn't feel like a dlc. Seems like they just filled in the gaps. Probably planned it from the beginning to make money.
  13. LOL - stop trolling me :) Haha, wtf? It was a serious question. I looked at the screenshots and can not figure out what you are talking about. Either describe what you need help with, or you are the troll.
  14. It seems like the Hearthfire dlc just completes what the vanilla game should have had already... A player home in each hold. It almost feels more like a $5 update than a dlc.
  15. *shakes head in shame* If you can't see that I quoted both of you and asked to not go over that discussion again... I don't know why I bother to read these threads they all end up the same. People nitpicking and getting worked up over little things rather than just enjoying the game for what it is, a game. I guess its like the Titanic movie, I know its going to sink but I watch anyway hoping that this time it might not... I prefer to stay out of the stupid debate also, but then someone comes along and makes false claims that Ulfric is a Thalmor agent and starts the debate again. If you want to stay out of it, go ahead, but I side with Ulfric, and one paper that shows a few sentences of speculation is not proof of anything. By spreading lies around, you may's well be a Thalmor yourself, and your statement would then be a hypocrisy.
  16. oh are we back to whether or not the books in Skyrim are to be taken at face value or considered falsified information? Please I've read enough of that debate... EDIT: seems I caught the post before it was edited.... oh well Even if Ulfric had worked with the Thalmor in the past, it doesn't mean that he still is. Fact is, the Imperials all work with the Thalmor, so that argument is just ludacris. Point 1: There was a reason that I had set this into a spoiler. Thanks for defeating it. Point 2: If you do the Quest Diplomatic Immunity you (and please don't post it in the cleat this time...) That is what the Thalmor believe. The information might show that Ulfric had been involved with the Thalmor in the past, but it is not a book of fact. If the Thalmor believe Ulfric is on their side, it doesn't make it true. It explains that Ulfric was a prisoner of war under interrogation, so it's fair to assume that he lead them to believe what they wanted to believe. It also explains how he refuses to have direct contact with them after the Markarth incident. That shows that he does not work for them. The real evidence is shown during the peace treaty where Ulfric and Galmar were very upset that the Thalmor were present. I'm pretty sure I even heard him call her a "Thalmor B****". They obviously hate the Thalmor, so your conspiracy theory is purely a self serving work of fiction. I don't mind if people hate Ulfrics guts, or hate the Imperials, or whatever. Everyone has their own opinion, but you can't just decide to make fact up out of some book that is far from proven. And this is the spoiler section... hiding information is not necessary.
  17. "Also, some of us know that Ulfric is an Agent Provocateur of the Thalmor" Please, gtfo with that nonsense. It's like saying Obama works for Al Queda. Hey, if we are all just going to interpret the story however we want... The Imperials are puppets of the Thalmor assigned with the same task... This is why I will never side with the Imperials.
  18. Not only did Arthmoor release a quick fix beta to the USKP, but there is now an Unofficial Hearthfire Patch that fixes the bedroom purchase too. DO NOT REMOVE THE USKP OR YOU WILL MAKE THINGS WORSE!
  19. Change their voice type and add them to the correct faction... but this would probably give you some bad side effects, like they would loose their custom dialogue until you removed the plugin.
  20. Actually, Whiterun sends troops to protect Riverwood. I never remember anyone returning to Helgen. In a quick google search, this map clearly shows that Helgen is almost in the center of Falkreath... http://tamrielma.ps/skyrim/ Not sure what this had to do with the topic.
  21. Strategically, you don't tell your enemy that you're going to attack. In fact, Ulfric most likely would have kept the axe, and laughed at Balgruuf. Since Ulfric is the agressor in the battle, Balgruuf would have never sent a message. He would have fortified his city and waited for the worst. This is a matter of what would really happen, and the Imperial role of Balgruuf simply was bad script in the plot.
  22. Maybe delivering the axe was his prefered method of just telling Ulfric "hey, I've made my decision, and it's not you, you jerk"? I don't see much of a difference. He didn't have to send any message, but the game required that the story keep the same path as the other side, so they gave Balgruuf the role that made more sense when it was Ulfric carrying it out. It's just another small example of a flaw in the story due to the fact that it's a game. Ulfric sending an axe symbolized that Balgruuf was being forced to chose a side. Balgruuf sending the axe was supposed to be about telling Ulfric, "Hey, here's my axe, now you know." There's a big difference between the two scenarios and Balgruufs was pretty dumb. Realistically, Ulfric would have sent the axe in both story lines, but they didn't want to force you to travel to Windhelm twice.
  23. The answer to your question is in the dialogue when you deliver the axe. Either side you pick, he sides with the Empire because he doesn't like Ulfric. It's that simple, though the Imperial side of the story makes much less sense since Balgruuf wants you to take an axe to Ulfric. The story seems more realistic when Ulfric is the aggressor and delivers the axe to Whiterun. I think Balgruufs role in the Imperial story is just retarded since he pretty much asks Ulfric to attack his city.
  24. I just hope billions of people don't read every time I get p'wned. Anyways, back on topic... I am looking forward to this dlc. It doesn't matter to me if it is unoriginal because official content is sure to be loaded with detail. And anything they leave out will surely get modded in soon after release. As far as what Bethesda should and should not release as a dlc... I leave it up to them. The last thing I want to happen is for a great series to get lame because the company decided to sell out like every other game. There will always be negative opinions about any product because we don't all like the same stuff, but the game wouldn't be as good as it is if the creators didn't know what they were doing. People have this common attitude that Bethesda can't do anything right, but it's ironic because if they hadn't then why would they be so important to criticize? Skyrim is a fantastic game, so anything they make for it will no doubt be awesome as well.
  25. LMFAO! Billions? Perhaps you are unaware that the entire human species is made up of less than 7 billion people? And most of them don't play video games. Do you even know how much a billion is? Semantics Bryan...who cares....Your trolling for the pure sake of trolling. I just thought it was funny. Maybe I'm the one who got trolled? Semantics are important if you want people to take you seriously. Don't worry Frosty, I'll get sick of this forum soon enough.
