They are only allowed to take a certain amount which is why Hillary had to lend her campaign about $12m from her own pocket.

They spend so much on TV ads and the like these days that the person who can't just raise it from campaigning is doomed.

Maybe if they're just using public funds, but you can take in more through private donations. Obama, for example, has taken in $300 million dollars just from small personal donations.

Yes but he still needed a ton of his own money in order to even be recognized enough to take in those donations. :P Stop arguing with me young whippersnapper. It isn't a coincidence that those running are always rich.

well yeah..I mean you do have to have money. It's not like the average joe can run for president. That isn't realistic. I don't think that's a negative, though.

Umm, well I do. Why should a good person need to have millions to do this? They shouldn't.

Anyway, back to my original point, it should be as it is back home where people vote for the party, not the person. :P

Well, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. Party voting with the parties we have now wouldn't work though. There are liberals, moderates, and conservaties in each party, so nothing would ever get done.

I will probably get a lot of hateful emails for this but, oh well

I support the war in Iraq-think about it Bush took out a major totalitarian leader, Sadam

Also I support Bush- If you stop tho think about it he has had one of the hardest presidencies since Lincoln... What else could he have done after 9/11? forgive them? Hardly.

Also Obama is fairly hypocritical. He is a Christan correct? well there are videos out there of him mocking the bible, I would post the links but I'm not sure if I'm allowed if I am I will edit this post with the links.

He is Pro abortion which I am sorry-but would you hold a gun up to someones head and pull the trigger? I know I wouldn't So why would I gouge the fetus out of a woman?

He has known relations with an American terrorist Ayers.

His Stance on Russia attacking George is this and I quote "The United States, Europe and all other concerned countries must stand united in condemning this aggression, and seeking a peaceful resolution to this crisis."

I fail to see how Putin will want to have a peaceful resolution if anything he will take that and use it against us, if we don't do anything what is stopping him.

THAT IS NOT OBAMAS FULL SPEECH if you want to see/hear it all please go to youtube

McCain on the other hand... while very Socialist Is

*Anti-Abortion

*Pro-Iraq (will finish the job) he knows how to fight a war and he knows what its like to be in one most people know this but he was in a PoW camp in Nam for years, in which he was in solitary confinement for 2 years, he turned down an offer to get out of that hell hole because he wanted to get other people out who were there before him

he wants to MAKE THE TAX CUTS PERMANENT=good

one bad thing about him is his stance on the borders in my humble opinion we need to close them but something tells me no matter who gets president we won't....

therefore McCain for the reasons stated above

PS.

If i did something wrong I will delete it I know a lot of websites hate political flame wars and I can understand why.

PSS I know its not well put together, I will edit tomorrow and make it more appealing to the eye.

Yes...but there are many other dictators in this world that we havent done anything about. We knew about Saddam a long time ago. Bush Sr even knew that occupying Iraq would be a huge mistake.

Uh..i would like to see those videos. I'm pretty sure he's never "mocked the bible".

Two things. One, that is your opinion. Two, our nation is in too big of a mess to vote for somebody over such a little issue like abortion.

He has known relations with an American terrorist Ayers.

Please do your research. The only association he has had with Ayers is that he served on a board with him.You probably don't know that Ayers was never convicted or even charged, and he is also a very well respected professor at Illinois University.

Yes, I fail to see how Putin will too, considering he's not the leader of Russia anymore. Russia doesn't want an international conflict, infact they're actually the good guy in this situation. If we stop pushing them and pursue democratic talks, it will be fine.

Being a good soldier doesn't not mean you will necessarily be a good leader. Iraq is not a job you can just "finish". You cannot defeat the insurgency with military might. Iraq's own government has demanded a timetable, and even Bush has agreed to it.

yeah, for oil companies. obama's cuts will cut taxes for 95% of middle class families.

He was making a good point though, imo. I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't a christian, though. You pretty much have to be a christian to be elected president in the US. It's a sad truth. Voting for candidates just because of their religious views is a terrible idea. But, let's not make this a religious debate, please.

I am only 15, so obviously I cannot vote, but if I could, I know who I would vote for. McCain is definitely the best person for the job. I know what I am about to say is one of the most cliche things a Republican could say about Obama, but he truly has next to no experience. Serving 2 years in congress and going to half the meetings does not qualify you to be President. I do not completely agree with McCain on some of his policies, because personally I think he is a bit too socialist, but he is definitely better than Obama. In response to what someone said earlier about Obama's relationship with Ayers, Obama himself has said that he is friends with him. Just another case of liberals trying to cover up Obama's vast inexperience, or other similar issues such as being friends with criminals, liars, terrorists, and racists. When Obama was asked of his position on abortion, he said that it was above his job description, but as president you are expected to make tough choices about controversial issues such as abortion. This proves that Obama not only cannot perform a simple brain function such as decision-making, but that he does not know what he is supposed to do as President. He thinks it will come to him as people fawn over him, praising his "impeccable judgement", but he is wrong. The job of President cannot be taken lightly, and should be taken by someone that can lead his country with conviction and proper morals, and this is why McCain is the right man for the job. I do not mean for these remarks to be taken as incendiary, I only meant to get my point across.

Wait Russia is the good guy? all Georga wanted was to join NATO and Russia attacked them How is that good?

also if you read newspaper articles and watch the news you would know that Putin is the prime minster of Russia

Which hold just as much power as the President. Odd don't you think?

yeah, for oil companies. Obama's cuts will cut taxes for 95% of middle class families.

What exactly is middle class? From what I get out of it is at a max of 249.9k per year?

if you make more than that you DESERVE to have it

Also it is US who make the oil companies rich don't we buy their gas and oil? if you want them to not make money well then get a rally together and tell people to buy electric cars. I know I have one, do you?

The oil companies are a business they are THERE to make money so if you don't like them don't buy any plastics or gasoline powered cars
