Model Problem

I've been having problems with a .nif that I created. It is for a weapon. It has a texture, and I was able to give it the collision data of a dagger. While the object appears in-game, I cannot pick it up (there is icon to indicate it either), and it does not respond to hits, as an item should. I suspect that it is related to another problem that I have with it in the CS, which is that the colored box that normally surrounds something when you select it does not surround the object, but instead sits a few feet away. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The .nif is available here:

There is something wrong with your collision/havok.

I will import the model into Blender, create a custom collision model for it and create a new NIF file for you.

EDIT:

Attached is the new NIF file and the source Blender file. Please compare the structure of both NIF files. Note how yours was missing the "SideWeapon" entry, the BSXFlags (very important) entry and had a NiStringExtraData node out of place (not under the Scene Root branch...but it is not needed anyway)

I also noticed the item was a bit crooked so I straightened it up.

I did not test this in-game but I'm fairly certain it will work (if you have the texture files it is pointing to).

If you are interested in scabbards for your weapons and you use Blender, here is a tutorial for you: How To Make Swords with Scabbards
