At one point in the main quest "For the Republic, Part 2", Colonel Moore, possibly alarmed at the recent upgrade of Securitrons on the Strip, tells the Courier to kill Mr. House or otherwise take him "out of the picture".

By then, the Courier probably knows that House is an immensely wealthy technological genius who had saved the Courier's own life, and who could be of great help against the challenges facing the region in the years ahead (Dr. Hildern in Camp McCarran mentions widespread famine within a decade). Also that the Courier, still holding the platinum chip, could expect to persuade House to leave the burden of governance to others, and to keep his Securitron army indefinitely in reserve until it's ever actually needed.

Therefore, though a cold and aloof technocrat might not be the best choice to run the Mojave (nor an insane and treacherous AI; nor a slaver empire), there are still good reasons to keep him around, and killing him now would be unnecessary, or at least premature. So I can imagine a conscientious Courier, with high enough Speech, immediately or eventually giving this careful reply to Moore:

"I and others respect and support the NCR because it honours its agreements and the rule of law. Mr. House has not broken his treaty with the NCR, so there is no just cause to move against him now; but if and when he does, I'll be there to deal with him."

So I'd like to see a mod that can do this, and otherwise leave House alive but not in power--like the Great Khans, the Brotherhood of Steel and even Yes Man--with an NCR Ending. After the Second Battle of Hoover Dam, the cutscenes would not mention him, but one could presume he'd continue to build a business empire within a republic, as he had done before the War, and as he would've done had the War never happened.
