Assassination

Not only him, Israel of course managed to hurt mulitple innocent bystanders as always.

And his two sons will just go on with the poo, even more bitter.

On a side note, Yassir had been living in a refugee camp since he and his family were forced to leave their house at the age of 12, only interrupted when he went to study in Cairo, but had to return because he could no longer afford it.

Agreed, they only use the money to kill eacother as it were.

I gain nothing from our Government supporting the Israleis(sp), just a lot of grief and other people who hate us with every passing day.

Instead, we should spend our money elsewhere; we should drop the embargo with Cuba, that would actually draw in money and it would take care of the immigration problems. We should also not allow any Corporations to take advantage of Cuba, as I would hate to see those people (or any people, curse the United Corporations of America) exploited simply for cheap labor.

That pisses me off to no end <_< using people like that...

Honestly I'm tired of the US policy towards Israel. We should stop sending them billions each year and put that money into our horribly failed education system.

I agree completely. The entire situation there is a disaster that we have no business getting invovled in. Both sides are fighting their "war" with no concern for the innocent people who get hurt and killed. While Israel is at least somewhat going after legitimate targets and not just random civilians, their complete lack of concern for the lives of people whose only crime is being too close to the target makes them just as bad.

This assassination was absolutely wrong. Israel had the power to resolve the problem other ways, but decided not to. For the same effort, they could have brought in a few tanks (since an old man in a wheelchair is clearly a major threat that mere police can't handle!) to surround the target and arrested him. And let the courts decide guilt or innocence and punishment, not some military officer.

The US needs to get out of this mess and get out now. And not come back until/if one or both sides make a sincere effort to resolve their problems peacefully.

George Bush himself is no genius. He sends our money over there, some goes over there, a few bucks go to this country but America needs that money for Education and just to fix our failing economy. Now Bush wants to spend money to send people to Mars, hell, let's send him to Mars.

I couldn't agree more. If only people could see that a dislike for Israeli policy and behaviour is not the same as a dislike of the Jewish people or their culture/religion perhaps the US could see a way out of the muddle they are now in.

If you fund a nation that promotes unreasonable vengeance (I am inclined to use far stronger terms but don't wish to start a flame war) you become target for revenge attacks as much as if you had committed the acts yourself.

Until the US cease to fund the Israeli state they have no real interest in finding a peaceful solution. On the contrary the US largesse would probably dry up. Time the US pulled the plug!

There are two real tragedies to the whole situation, first the Israeli have been assasinating palestinian leaders for almost 40 years. This has accomplished zip, you would think they would learn after a while. The second tragedy is that we are adopting similiar tactics against the Iraqi. (By we I mean the US, which I happen to be a citizen of).

You have to remember that the US has a powerful Jewish lobby. I'm not historian enough to know how we managed to replace Britian as the protector of Israel, but we did and now we are stuck in the mire and can't get out, right or wrong. Don't forget too, that there are countries like Iran and Syria that have a vested interest in preventing any kind of peace in the region due to their desire to see Israel destroyed. The Palestinians are to some extent an unfortunate pawn in the game. The only way peace will occur there is when both sides decide to stop killing each other. I'd love to see the US wash its hands of the whole Middle East and Southwest Asia, but that just isn't going to happen. Oh, and you think it is bad there now, wait till the water and oil run out. Lack of water is a problem which grows every day, and oil is going to start drying up in 30 to 50 years.

I completely agree with you, but I'm sure most Jewish people would have a different interpretation if the US halted funds to Israel. What we need to do, besides simply pull their funding, is also realize the UN isn't just a US puppet organization and actaully be responsible world leaders and work hard on seeing a centralized world organization succeed.
