Random freeze; game not responding

Hey all! I've begun to have this problem where my game will freeze and stop working. The music still plays, although everything else locks up - characters freeze, I can't use any of the controls, etc. I know my PC can run the game fine; I've finished the story before without problems. I have to Alt+Tab out of the game and close/restart it that way. The freezing only happens maybe after an hour or so of play and I've only had it happen outside of towns in the wilderness or on roads.

I do use mods and have quite a few installed, so I can provide a list of the ones I have active. Although I'm sure I installed each correctly; maybe some conflict with each other? Many of them were active when I had done my first play-though and I never experienced this problem. I've verified the cache's integrity on Steam quite a few times; that doesn't seem to work. Here's what my mod manager looks like. Everything checked is what I have active when the freezing occurs. Some of the unchecked mods were also active when I first experienced this - unchecking them didn't solve anything. Sorry if the names are hard to read.

I would suspect the Combat Realism mod might be giving your game some headaches, but that's just a guess. Honestly, though. The game always freezes on me at some point. In particular after your save file hits about 8 or 9 MBs. With 1.6 I find that the freezing and crashing has started up at about 6 or 7 MBs.

I think I had experienced a freeze or two before I installed that mod, but I can't remember. I'll have to disable it and try the game for a while to see if it's causing it. Good point; I know I have a ton of old save files from my other character. Maybe I should start getting rid of those.

Well, I got rid of a heap of old saves to no avail. I'm still suspecting some kind of conflict or problem with my mods. I'll try that combat realism mod and if that doesn't work, I might have to do a clean uninstall of everything and then gradually see which one mucks up the game.

I think i am having the same issue. My game freezzes for a bout 2 to 3 seconds every minute or so. I have uninstalled any new Mods that may be causing it but still have the issue. I only have 10 total mods I am sure it is not my PC as system requirments lab has me maxed at the recommended levels. This is really annoying and makes it unplayable for me.

Which mods do you two have? If there are some that we all share, then we can figure out which might be the culprit(s).

I am currently using these Mods

Kill Them Generals

Fixed Followers

Seabreeze Estate

Increased Bounty Rewards

Sounds of Skyrin Dungeons and Wild

Blades Faction Fix

Lissette Marriage

Dovakin Temple

Crimson Dragon Armor

Killmove Control

Warchief Armor

Dark Seratic Heavy Armor

Dread Knight Weapons

This started for me two days ago and I had tried a new mod "More NPC's in the Wild" Right after I started using that is when I first noticed the freezing. I assumed that maybe there was to much going on in the game and that was causing it but I uninstalled it and reloaded a save from before it was active and still had the issue. My PC has an i7 processor, Windows 7 , 2 Geforce 260 running in SLI and 6Gbps of ram. I meet and surpass the recommended specs, so I am sure it is not my PC. I saw a threrad somewhere else where they mentioned the scripts may be updating and causing this and to sit in a inn for awhile to let them finish loading. I tried this several times last night but would come back to my PC and it had crashed to desktop. This may be where the issue is because on the post i read the person had mentioned if the save is not stable enough it will CTD. Unfoirtunately just prior to this happening I had cleaned up my save files, so if I cannot fix this save issue I will have to start all over which will suck. BTW I am not blaming the the More NPC's in the Wild Mod. I have looked at the file page and did not see anyone complaing about this. My best guess is that it is some scripting issue from the new patch that is making th scripting changes or updates take to long. O f course to be honest I really have no clue. I almost forgot before this as well I have installed Sounds of Skyrim Civilizatrions as well. I only had this running for a few mionutes as I would CTD going inmto shops and one shop I entered I just kept falling through the floor, so I uninstalled it right away.. Again not blaming this Mod , but want to be accurate with what I was doing right before this started.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks

It is not just you. I am seeing more and more psosts about this around. Some people have few mods and some people have many. I restarted a new character and have all the same mods plus i added a few to test. Not a single issue since i started the new game.
