encastra
It seems like it would benefit a good deal of people to check for rules already in effect when overwriting rules in mod, that way it could limit potential cyclic rules in the mods. For instance, when I went to install a lot of mods over again, Vortex didn't tell me I had mod cycle rules until well after I installed them all and ruled them all, (after it straight up deleted a lot of my rules from before, during the install process) creating just a mess of conflicts that is taking well over an hour to get to the included screenshot. Note: That is REALLY zoomed in, the actual conflict zone is larger. Or a batch cyclic rules removal option.
AugustaCalidia
Please spend some time researching the issues of load order management and file conflict resolution as discussed in these Vortex forums over the past several months. Also, if you have not already done so, you will find helpful information in the Vortex Knowledge Base. No offense intended, but a proper use of Vortex would never produce the results pictured in your post and would obviate the need for your suggestion. I say that as someone who has used Vortex extensively over the past eleven months.
encastra
You say that, but like I said in the post, it DELETED all my conflicting mods' rules, and didn't mention cyclic rules til after I went through the rest. I HAVE read the vortex guides, and have been using vortex issue free for months of non stop tinkering. So, yes, it would. It did. There is no maybe. encastra
Also, the original point still stands, it WOULD erase a lot of guesswork for the average user.
Guest deleted34304850
that is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. How did you do it? Have you created a unique group for every plugin?
encastra
No, for whatever reason, when the last update hit, it took all my mods and made their own group without me realizing. >.> I'm still processing why.
Guest deleted34304850
and it did it all by itself? this is how skynet started.
encastra
I don't really recall all what it said, as it was a good bit ago, but it unlinked all my mods, but left them in the game folder, and it just was a struggle to get it to normalcy from there. Guest deleted34304850
cant you just delete all the groups you (or the loki-vortex you're running) created and be done? 99% of plugins default to the group 'default' and that's it.
encastra
Oh, I did. It took a good bit of doing and about 3 days of time, but it's all done and over with. I just thought that'd be a useful feature.
