Willkabob
I just got Fallout 3 - Game of the Year Edition on Steam, but I crash and get "Fallout3 has stopped working" whenever I pick new game. When doing the first time start up it got to 3 out of 4 then said something about turning something on or off in the control panel to install something. I run on Windows 7 Home Premium if you were wondering. Anyone have a solution?

Falloutman117
Solution: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/201495-fallout-3-crash-fix-guide/ WAIT AND READ Skip step 1 and proceed to do steps 2 and 3, I say this because 1 was complicated and 2 and 3 actually worked. Follow steps 2 and 3 on the on-screen instructions, if this was too complicated, just reply telling me so. Hope this helped :) --Jordan

Werne
System specs would be nice. If Win 7 is the same as XP, right-click My Computer, select properties and write the stuff it says under Computer in the General tab.

Nothing else really seems important. I swear there was a way with more details, like graphics card etc.
Werne
Processor: Pentium® Dual-Core CPU T4400 @ 2.20GHZ 2.20 GHZLaptop processor. I guess your laptop has an integrated graphics card too. Fallout 3 is not designed to work with an integrated graphics card and it crashes either immediately or after starting a new game. There is a way to get it running on an integrated card but it has nasty cosequences if it can't handle it. For integrated Intel graphics cards there's an Intel HD graphics Bypass package. It basically fools the game into believing that you actually have an external graphics card. The good thing is, you can run FO3 and use mods just like anyone else. The bad things happen if your laptop can't handle the game, FO3 is actually quite demanding without editing FalloutPrefs.ini for performance. You could overheat and destroy your hardware, not limited only to the graphics card. And there's also a chance that nothing will happen and your game will still crash. If you really want to run it, try the bypass at your own risk.

Well, it was able to run Fallout NV, which was made later so the graphics are supposedly better, does anyone think it will work?
