Which game did you decide to download mods for?

Do you know where the mesh and texture folders are?

.nif Mesh

dds. Texture

hello,

I tried vortex and it works fine (automatic) but I would like to go further. I didn't find mesh and texture folders. I am playing with fallout 4 under Steam.

Your Steam Library is where the game and all it's folders exist. SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/ Click on Fallout 4. Click on Data Folder.

All the folders you need to familiarize your self with are there.

Not quite true. You can still find it on Nexus as an alternative to Vortex. And the community as such still supports it. Links below

Each to his own. I haven't tried Vortex but stick with NMM - and FOMM for FO3. And I've gotten the latest updates from Github.

It appears you want to know about installing .nif and .dds yourself. Am I correct?

My oppologies if I am not getting the fact across I understand that NMM, Vortex, OMM, FOMM all do the honors of installing mods easily. What I meant about NMM is stated by the creator of it; " that they are no longer going to upgrade it. No longer supported meaning the creator has moved along and is indifferent about whether the members of nexusmods dot com support it's already fully functioning ability."

I am also getting the idea you plan on making .nif and .dds yourself that you are going make your own Meshes and Textures, which you want to install yourself, you don't need a mod manager. Just drag and copy them from your stored folder where you keep your finished .nif and .dds into the games mesh and texture folders.
