GlassDeviant
I have never used deadly spells and I still get this, even on a brand new game during the walk to Riverwood in the first fight against the three wolves. I have no mods that affect spell effects in any way, whatsoever.
Ubertwelve
check out this vid by gopher, pretty sure this is the problem you guys are having and i once had, DSI was notorious for making this happen when spell casting. he outlines 3 fixes, i used the skse aplha 1.7 option. totally stopped the freezing and it hasn't froze since. gamefever
DONT use Deadly Spell Impacts, I never had a good experience with that mod ever. I actually thought people knew not to use it. Honestly you gotta be careful with spell fx overhauls, water overhauls stuff like that. More fx in this game will have a bigger impact on handling and fps than most texture mods for terrain. samtate
Yes!! Confirmed. This is caused by deadly spell impact. Mod author has post a sticky on his page, check it out http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/294 TEST: With Mod installed high res textures (a long with 120+) against multiple enemies and removing shout cool down, the game crashes 50% of the time when using fire, frost and ice (which is every other shout). With deadly Mod uninstalled I was able to spam the shouts, fire, frost and ice with no crashes no freeze and no lag. Same with fireballs and bolts. This mod seems to overload textures and Mod author has explained why. Mod author recommends: 1. Switch to a lower resolution version.2. Try one of the alternate esps under "Optional Files".3. Uninstall texture mods you don't care for (which includes this one) to avoid the 3.1 GB limit.4. Remove the esp after installing the mod so that it turns into a simple texture replacer without the features listed in the description.
