The perfect breakdown modded game?

Hey everybody. Im coming back because, you know, state of decay is just that engaging... xD

 

I want to make the perfect breakdown build. Right now im looking at 'down with the sickness' as a good base. I thought 'qmjs extended functions' was a really good addition. But the problem I see, is that these two mods produce the same files with the same names and end up overwriting each other. Is there a way to merge these files without having to manually change figures I may or may no understand?

 

Beyond that I wanted to add stuff like, no special zombies, zombies cant run, stuff like that, then increase the number of regular zombies (which i think down with the sickness is doing) to make it feel more like the walking dead and allow the player to kind of relax a little bit. What I find, at least at the higher levels, is that Juggers (fat bastard) and ferals are just too damn capable of killing you in one grab... That was just too horrifying for me that anyone could just die at any moment because one of them shows up. Death should be because you made a mistake, either you went into a situation you couldnt handle, or you got cornered by a horde without making a plan to deal with it. One hit death is just too much for me...

 

Beyond that im looking at little things like 'rucks n trucks' for better cargo capacity and whatever other little tweaks to make the game more 'realistic' or at least more believable in general.

 

Feedback, advice, mod suggestions, I appreciate other peoples thoughts.

QMJS' mod can't be merged as he doesn't include the source for any of the recent versions. His mod also relies on Special Zombies for certain features to work. I believe he doesn't include the source because of the amount of problems certain changes can cause.

 

For No Special Zombies, more zombies, 1 hit kills (to player) and more cargo capacity in vehicles you can use my mod here : https://www.nexusmods.com/stateofdecay/mods/145 . Those changes are compatible with the YOSE version of the game but changing things like buildings and radio options are NOT for use with YOSE.

 

Zombies can't run you can use this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/stateofdecay/mods/106 but be aware it causes some bugs. Not that mod specifically but all mods which slow zombies down creates an issue with sieges where the zeds can get lost before making it to the house.

Ok, maybe a good question, is there a program or something that merges mods together? Because from what I can see mods that modify the same file just replace the file. If three mods all replace one file, then the last one to replace is effective, not the other two...

 

I like that, no jumping zombies, that looks like a nice touch. I have been playing for a while now with the build I put above. Down with the sickness really booms the number of zombies on the map, like crazy numbers. When the zombies dont run, it makes an interesting situation. You can run around and make all the noise in the world if you want to because it takes them like a minute to actually get to you. But what I found is that you tend to stay in one place long enough regularly to the point where you are now surrounded by dozens of slow movers and suddenly it hits you that you are way in over your head and you need to do something now or you are going to get swamped. xD

 

The big thing that I want from no special zombies (apart from the one hit kill retardedness) is to not have tons of, go out of your way for some bloater in the woods that no one cares about missions.... I dont care, it makes no difference at all if some bloater is wondering the woods...

Is it telling me that I need to use the NMM to use it right?

I don't know if the freak hunt missions can be completely removed. The timer can be set really high but I'm unsure of what consequences that may have.

 

You need to use NMM. Trying to manually navigate the folders would not be enjoyable, I had to keep the folder names as short as possible in order for certain tools to function.
