scot
Hello, I´m wonder am I the only one counting with dawnguard coming out on 26 july? I mean dawnguard is exclusive for xbox for 30 days wich means after 30 days other platforms get the game right? Otherwhise xbox would have more than 30 days of exclusivity. Another thing I have in mind, will bethesda support dawnguard with a high resolution texture pack as well? Would be strange having high resolution for the whole game and crappy console textures for dawnguard. What do you think?
Leeira
Not sure where I read it, but I think it should come out mid-august. But maybe I am wrong (and I hope I am wrong and you are right).Well, it could be the german version which comes out mid-august. But that would be strange as we all have to use steam and we all can change the language to english, german, or whatever we want.
kevkiev
The more I read about Dawnguard, the less I care about the release date, but that's another story I guess... ... will bethesda support dawnguard with a high resolution texture pack as well? Would be strange having high resolution for the whole game and crappy console textures for dawnguard. What do you think? I wondered kinda the same thing right from the first announcement of the DLC. "Kinda" meaning I wondered how many of the Skyrim vanilla meshes/textures would be used in Dawnguard so that any hi-rez mods would translate over to Dawguard. (I'm thinking back to exclaiming "BOOYAH" when I saw that the, epic, FONV Ojo Bueno landscape textures applied to the main landscape of Old World Blues.) From what I can gather, Dawnguard takes place for the most part in the main Skyrim environment so I think it'll partly be a moot point, but obviously there will be some new things (crossbow, vampire lord, for example) and, from the official trailer it looks like that big castle might have different meshes than anything in vanilla Skyrim. And there will be other new world spaces too. But for the most part, I'd wager that most of the new world spaces will use vanilla Skyrim assets and so high-rez stuff installed for Skyrim will indeed transfer over. But, in any event, I'd also wager that new textures on Nexus for any new assts won't be that far behind the DLC. (And the texture packs here on Nexus blow the doors off the official hirez DLC.) IMO, another reason to wait for a while before deciding whether to buy Dawnguard. edited to add spoiler tags. I'm not sure if this stuff is "spoiler" per se, but out of an abundance of caution.... Leeira
Is there any official release date for the PC? I can't find any, even the official bethsoft page has no information.
fms1
Is there any official release date for the PC? I can't find any, even the official bethsoft page has no information. It's still listed as "availability has not been announced" on UESP also. I read a post here on Nexus that said about mid-august, but could be late august. It didn't have any references listed, so idk.
vinh834
They never actually said that it will come to other platforms for sure. it seems like they don't give a ****. When asked, all they said was "we have no revealed any other info about other platform releases". If they dare release it in September, I'm just not going to even bother even getting it since it would be obvious they think we have inferior hardware that should get content even later because some guy in a suit at Microsoft said so.
