Duthos1
"Keeping the Fran Optional Items Add-On BSA file loaded is a very common problem, so I highly recommend taking a little extra time now to avoid this problem in the long run. Here's the simple process to avoid this problem Make a copy your Shivering Isles.esp file and rename it to Oblivion.esp. Or, make a new blank esp with a single item in it and name it Oblivion.esp.Change the name of FraNewItems.bsa to Oblivion - FraNewItems.bsa.As long as your Oblivion.esp is active, then your renamed Oblivion - FraNewItems.bsa file will always get loaded automatically because the names match. This is the same method used by Bethesda to load BSAs for all of the DLC mods. This avoids any problems with the .ini file. The FCOM Setup FAQ includes additional tips about this. " Taken straight from "http://devnull.devakm.googlepages.com/convergence", these are the instructions I followed. Anyway, completly unrelated to the rest of this topic, I downloaded a mod to make caves darker, tried it, thought it was nifty, but a pain in the ass, so I unistalled it. The next time I rebuilt my based patch I had the dark effects back, even though the esp was deleted. Now all caves and dungeons are ultra dark, and the esp that made it that way is long gone. Did I screw up here, or is there a simple fix? Edit - I loaded the game without ANY mods, and still got this uber dark setting. So I am assuming it must be something in one of the folders in data, I will start searching, but I would be grateful if someone could point me to the right file. OK, I found the section you refrenced above, I never read that part, cause I've never had a problem keeping my Fran's BSA working. But yup that will work. I'd suggest making the blank .esp with the CS then renaming it to Oblivion.esp, then adding the "Oblivion -" part to the Fran .bsa file name. It sounds like the mod changed one or more lines in the Oblivion.ini in your "....\My Games\Oblivion\" directory, rename this oblivion.ini file to something else like "old_oblivion.ini" and the next time you start your game a new oblivion.ini will be created. You will LOOSE ALL changes that other mods might have made to your oblivion.ini file. Such as DarnifiedUI, Streamline, tweakoblivion, etc... Duthos1
Nothing in the ini. But I found that by adjusting my brightness one point it returns to normal. Just another chore before I start the game (like setting up darnui). Oh well, at least the rest of my game is working pretty good now.
