Kazevura
Hey guys, I couldn't manage to get myself out of this situation by goggling the problem out. Anyways... I've recently swapped my graphics card, it was a geForce 9800 GT, now it is a geForce GTX 460 v2. It's an awesome graphics card but since I got it, I've been having some trouble with Skyrim. The problem is that everytime I get into interiors or out, Skyrim starts to stutter (I guess that's the right word for it. For following short freezes.) And the curious thing about it is that when I Alt+TAB the game and get back into it, it fixes... FPS gets back to normal. Of course I could do it all the time, like I do when it happens, but Alt+TAB messes up with shadows, textures and pretty much anything and then I have to restart Skyrim.I've tweaked some stuff in the drivers CP but no success. The drivers are updated, Skyrim is patched and everything. I use a bunch of mods, if you guys want to see the load order I could provide it but I don't think they're what's causing the freezes.Any idea of what could it be?Thanks in advance. I'm using and AMD card and i get the same problem (having to Alt-Tab out) minus the texture and shadow problem. My brother's game gets it too. I recently had a bad stretch of having the problem when i was testing out an ENB mod. It has slowed down since i stopped using it. I think it could also possibly be because i have a lot of high-res textures installed. Bottom line is, Skyrim is buggy and/or we might be putting slightly too much strain on our cards. Kazevura
I don't think the strain is the problem, with the 9800 GT, I had even more mods installed, including 2k Textures, and Vurt's Flora High Res, the problem itself wasn't happening back then, and since GTX 460 v2 is supposed to be a better card I don't see why it should be something out of it's reach. The only texture changing mods I have right now is Vurt's Flora at a lower resolution, Improved Clothing and some minor mods about Spell Impacts and Blood Decals. EDIT +++I've used different sorts of ENB configs. before... Perhaps the problem could be on remaining files of ENBs used before? That said, the only thing i can think of that might possibly cause a problem would be a leftover d3d9.dll file. I have a good card too and have lots of high-res stuff installed and the game usually plays perfectly, i was just throwing out that suggestion as a possibility, albeit a very small one. Hah, actually there was a d3d9.dll file, it should fix the problem I guess, I only have to wait to see if everything is in order. Thanks for the tip I'll be more cautious whenever I install something like ENB on Skyrim. :)
