Mod Nubling

Hiya all. After downloading and sifting through MANY house downloads, I just can't seem to find one that really GRABS me. Although I will say, all of the house mods I've seen are very, very well done. Perhaps I'm just too picky, but either way, I've decided to try my hand at creating or just changing an in-game house to get it the way I like it.

I'd like something simple, it doesn't have to be huge, but basically I'd like to have everything in one, what's the word, instance? I don't want to have to do any loading in the house.

One of my big questions is this. I'm trying to move a copy of the Skingrad Mages Guild to an area outside of another city. Anywhere at this point, really. I can load the cells, the interiors, and such, and I can add and rotate furniture, so I've figured that much out at least. What I can't figure out is how in the heck to move a house to a space I want in the world.

Honestly if anyone reading this has a mod that adds just a big, empty house to Oblivion, feel free to reply and let me know.

Any help/feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

To get the exterior of the house into a different cell you need to find it on the Object List under Static, then just drag it into the Render Window and it will show up. you will can Place it into the Earth however you like by holding the Z key and moving the mouse.

Thanks very much for the replies. I figured out how to re-arrange and change houses already in the game, so I've been trying my hand at that. Worked on Arborwatch for a while, pretty fun.

I'll give Hoarfrost Castle a go, the description for that sounds great.

Thanks again!

For a little help in basic modding check out the Oblivion Contruction Set Wiki site for tons of information. Click on Getting Started at the top and it'll tell you literally everything you'll need to know to start learning on your own. It covers placing objects, some tips on how to place them better, int-ex doors (When you get the loading screen), lighting and pretty much anything else you need to know to get started. After going through that I jumped right into my first mod, which I'm still working on, and figured out how to use sleep scripts and patrol paths and stuff like that on my own. Great little place to get started.
