Stop Create Cyrodil

WTF ?

Alright I'm calling spelling police:

"Many people want to create Cyrodil but why won't they make the other provinces instead ? " + something weird I'm not even sure it English.

Well there are people who work on Elsweyr and Valenwood, I think someone will make Morrowind . The reason why people want to make Cyrodil is because they have a ready example of it in Oblivion. I'm not sure anyone truly knows how Valenwood looks for example. They have to guess by the little pieces of lore the have and use their imagination. With Cyrodil you only need to play Oblivion.

Indeed. We only have a vague set of official visualisations of most provinces, in the form of TES 1: Arena, and they were procedurally generated. The closest thing we'll get any time soon to an official "This is what Tamriel in its entirity looks like" is TES Online, which is still a while away.

I remember some great mods for Oblivion that just seemed to end. There was one that was creating Hammerfell, but I don't think it was released.

"We must stop the creation of Cyrodiil! If someone builds a mod like that I will cry!"

Actually I think it would be fun to play a mod with a new province, but mods like that are enormously difficult to build. It would require a team of about 40 skilled modders about three years to build a single province. So the manpower, time, and enthusiasm are not usually available. But if you have the time and energy, I am sure that one of the projects that is building a province would love to have your help.

As I posted. there already are a few teams working on this idea. Follow the link to see.

They are working on a single heightmap that is scaled to skyrim size. So each province is correctly sized in relation the size of skyrim in the game. The way it is set up is that the player will be able to travel out of skyrim via a load but once in this "common heightmap" travel between the provinces is just like any world space: One big open area. So once you load into this new world space you can travel from highrock to blackmarsh on foot without a "load door"

the way they have it set up is that each team has one province. So when/if we will see certain things will be determined on each individual team. The Highrock, elsywere and morowind teams all look really solid with losts of long time, skilled modders in their ranks. cyrodill has a team but IDK how effective they look.

hammerfall and blackmarsh do not have anybody working on them from the looks of it.

From the looks of it the highrock team is the same team that did highrock for oblivion if i understand correctly.

Most importantly, they are finishing up a full tamriel heightmap that they will all share now. unlike oblivion where such a heightmap took 5 or 6 years to make.

To continue on with Beyond Skyrim (what hangman was detailing), I am getting involved and am hoping to start up the Hammerfell team. If any of you are interested in joining, head over to the Dark Creations forums and voice your interest. From there we can determine a plan of action, starting small.
