jaime74
@PortalThinker101: Though I am not 100% sure about it, I don't believe that TES5Edit can solve that kind of problem. TES5Edit is meant for cleaning out dirty and wild edits from mods, i.e. it is related to modify the way how data records are manipulated. The issues with SoS, however, derive from very specific Papyrus scripting mechanisms. In other words: The cause of the problem seems to be rooted deeply inside the script code, not in the scripts as data objects per se. And once the scripts have started changing the contents of a savegame, there's no turning back. AFAIK that's nothing TES5Edit can influence in any way (other than just deleting scripts from a mod, but that wouldn't help anything).Furthermore, TES5Edit can only modify mod files, but not savegames (the only tool I know to be capable of doing the latter is Wrye Bash). Anybody, correct me if I am wrong.
PortalThinker101
Dang. That's too bad. Pretty sure Cliffworms has abandoned us haha. Well that, or just hasn't found a way to fix the problem/there IS no fix to the problem. Find it odd he wouldn't want to update his three mods and put them back up though. They were quite popular. jaime74
Keep in mind that it's probably only the last of his three mods (Civilization) that's causing the issues. At least that's how I understand the discussion (not 100% sure of course). However, I guess that many people prefer to play it safe by keeping their fingers off all three mods for now (I confess that I am doing the same, still hoping for Cliffworm to come back...). suckowski
Hmmm...I'm still using all three of them to this day without facing any problems.
jaime74
@suckowski:Yes, a lot of people are in the same lucky situation. It was the same for me for a long time. Then, several weeks after uninstalling all three SoS mods, the savegame bloat suddenly hit me in the aftermath!Of course I cannot tell for sure whether this was really caused by SoS. Might have a million other reasons. But as I am not the only one reporting these issues, I am still suspecting SoS to be the cause. In my case, I had to go back a bunch of savegames, until I found one that was still clean.
TomSawyer
Hi. jaime74
everything from cliffworms should be avoided ...Definitely not. Seems that you've never played Oblivion, otherwise you'd know that he has created a series of excellent mods.
