Lord Garon
The first thing I remember was back in the intro; my computer was not up to the task and would lag like crazy. So I built an Athalon Oblivion machine even before I made it out of the sewers. When I finally made it out, I forgot all about the money I had just spent; it was a freakin awesome place. I just took off exploring. I couldn't believe it took me days, most of the time running away from something, to get around. I must have spent a week just looking around. I kept going back to the forest area NE of Chorrol; the coolest scenery I had ever seen in a game. Finally, one day I just couldn't move; I had harvested and potioned myself into over-encumberance. I decided to go into a city to sell stuff and start a quest. Skyrim has better scenery and Morrowind was the first of its kind for me, but Oblivion was really my first experience in such a large, open and detailed world. I'll never forget one walk through the forest in the rain, thunder in the background, deer sprinting away, and the trees and grass swaying in the breeze; one of those "defining" moments in my TES experience. (Like being carried along in the river currents of Skyrim.) Edited February 23, 2013 by Lord Garon

gaminggriffin
Oh yes, I still remember the first thing I did, went to an inn in the forest and slaughtered every one there. good times, good times .
AnArcticAnt
I made an Orc creatively named "Impslayer"...unfortunately, the computer I used it on was so terribly weak I was surprised it managed the install at all, and I couldn't manage an acceptable FPS unless I moved the viewing distance down to the minimum. I pretty much ran around in the fog blind as a bat, stumbled into some water, swam across, ran around until I found Roland Jenseric's cabin, and...I can't remember after that. Probably waited until I got a better computer.
mek42
Easy for me to remember, I just bought the game last week. I did go first to the ruins across the water, but the bandits kicked my butt and I ended up walking to the Priory doing the Alesworth quest along the way. AlfredTetzlaff
Easy for me too. First Play-through was stopped by A-Bomb, the second one by F-Bomb. About 3 Years later I finally saw the End of the Main-Quest in a third attempt, yay!

raymondNZdnd
Oh dear - first time out of the sewers, looking around - not noticing the ruins in front of me - or the Imperial City behind me. Walking by the waters observed someone attacking a crab, and was unprepared for when they suddenly turned on me.So, didn't last too long the first time. Camwe
Oh, yes, I do remember my first time. I'm not sure how old I would have been. Relatively young, anyway. We didn't have a 360 then, or a computer that would run it, so the first time I played was at my aunt's. She was (and still is) a huge geek, and I remember begging her to play so I could watch her. Then it dawned on me that I could play, myself. I remember just standing in awe of everything, as soon as I got out of the sewers. Considering that up until this point, I had been on the original XBox, the graphics were stunning. The next thing I remember is stealing all the food from the guard barracks. Ah, good times. Thorondur
Grass!Yeah I just started playing Oblivion a few weeks ago. As soon as left the sewers I was stunned by grass and deer. Coming from EQ2 on a slow computer I was amazed. I can't wait to finish and start Skyrim.
