I am interested in getting followers mods. Are there any guidelines on how to install them and which version of Skyrim(skyrim SE) is required?

But, if you have the latest/greatest version of the game, that becomes a non-issue. Should also find install instructions in the description page, or the readme found in the archive of the mod. Another option would be to simply use Vortex, or Nexus Mod Manager to install them. Makes life easier. There are a LOT of good follower mods out there in the world. :D
