telferg
Morning All, I have started using vortex to replace NMM last night to mod Kingdom Come Deliverance, Fallout 4 and The Witcher 3.The Vortex program itself seems simple enough, and I have managed to get mods installed and "elevated" within the KCD root directory. Unfortunately when trying to load the game through the Vortex Launch button, I receive the following message:License not verifiedSteam client is not running My Steam client is running in the background and it does bring it to foreground while trying to launch the game. Is there something I am missing here in terms of linking Vortex to Steam somehow?I have modded KC:D before by adding directly to the mods folder in the game's root directory, and when I check there all of the mods I added are unpacked and installed correctly. I have tried loading the game via steam which works OK, but when doing so that way, none of the mods are active. Any advice is appreciated. BigBizkit
Where do you receive that message? What happens if you double click the game executable in the game folder (rather than running it through Steam)?
telferg
Hi BigBizkit, That message appears once I press "Launch" in the top left of Vortex, i.e to launch the game with mods enabled, and then I see the KC:D logo on the small box appear.Following that it then brings Steam to the foreground and the error message appears. I have not tried running the game executable in the games root folder as of yet.Only tried launching via vortex "launch" button and via steam itself. FYI for reference, my KC:D game is all purchased and managed by steam. Thanks
BigBizkit
So, the error message is coming from steam? Also, please try double-clicking the executable in the game's root folder. Is it the same as when you try running it via Vortex?
telferg
Hi BigBizkit, Thanks for the timely response. I will try what you suggest this evening, and also will try closing down all the steam processes and allowing Vortex to open steam.I should be able to provide an update on this thread within the next 4-5 hours. TheGreatFalro
Just a thought, but make sure you're signed into the Steam account that owns the game. Could be you're signed into an alt or something.
telferg
Hi Falro, Thanks for the reply. I only have the one steam account, no alts etc. Will do a full reboot of the system when I get home and sign out and back into steam etc. Will allow Vortex to load steam itself and see if that resolves the issue, and also try what BigBizkit mentioned. telferg
Seems to be sorted now. Potentially steam just needed a restart. Strange error but just tried it a few times after a fresh pc restart and boot up of steam. Loads the game fine, just not some mods. Will do a bit of reading up for KC:D as not sure if the mods I am using are working right or activated at all. Thanks for the help on initial subject though guys
