Hello everyone!

Here's the thing, I've played Skyrim for many years and, after some time and lil' upgrades to my reaally old PC, I've decided to take another run in Oldrim, with a lot more mods that my previous gameplay.

But, suddenly, I'm having a lot of random CTD (as with any newbie modder)... Some of them happen in particular places, while others can happen anytime, and are not preceded by any stuter/freeze/lag/glitch. i.e. I have to take another route when I'm near any Fort, especially if there's someone fighting there (soldiers or necromages), and I don't even have any mod that changes Civil War questline or anything.

Other CTD's happens in certain AREAS (even "untouched" vanilla ones) and I have to completely avoid them, and that's making the game unplayable since I don't use fast travel and, when travelling from one hold to another, the game always finds some point where it will crash. These CTD also don't have any time pattern, since they can happen after 2, 10, 30 or even 60 minutes of play. I frequently use Skyrim Performance Monitor and the crashs never happen after peaks of VRAM busting the 2GB limit. All mods work correctly and I've almost had no crashes when calling any mod function (Campfire, Frostfall, TK Dodge...)

I take myself as a newbie in modding, but I do everything to try and keep the game stable: Mods cleaned by TES5Edit, some plugins merged in Bashed Patch and load order sorted by LOOT. All textures packs installed are either basic/light versions or 1k instead of 2k, with Optimized Textures. ENB used is Stakado Cinemascope with all performance tweaks (Skyrim configs in the launcher are Low). Up to date SKSE and FNIS. Already tried playing with only ENBooster, to no avail. Papyrus log attached.

Specs:

Intel i5 650 - 3.20ghz

ZOTAC GTX 750ti - 2GB VRAM

8GB RAM - 1600mhz

EVGA 450wBT - 80p Bronze

Windows 7 Professional

Load order (sorted by LOOT):

Sorry for the awful long texts and my bad english. In advance, I thank you for your help.

EDIT: Forgot to tell, I use NMM.

not sure if you're using this, if you're not it should help a LOT, below

In March of 2013, Bethesda released their final patch for Skyrim. Version 1.9.32.0.8. Prior to this, Open Cities ( and some other mods ) Skyrim had little trouble operating in the available memory the game provided. In order to configure SKSE 1.7 to resolve this problem, you simply need to make sure your skse.ini file in Data/SKSE contains at least the following lines:

[Memory]
DefaultHeapInitialAllocMB=768
ScrapHeapSizeMB=256

If it's not there just make a blank TXT document, add the 3 lines above, and save it as SKSE.ini @ Data/skse

iirc that's the SKSE Memory Patch right? I know it's already in-built in the latest SKSE version. Besides, I think I've opened the skse.ini before to see if it had these lines. Maybe I could tweak those values a little more to help?

you can go up to 1024 on the top value, but NEVER touch the bottom one

8GB ram, you betcha

that INI uses SYSTEM ram, not Video card ram

Sorry for the ignorance but, looking at my specs, is it safe to change to 1024?

Just did it, and raising up to 1024 made it worse... It was fixed in 768.

I also tried 512, and it crashed a lot too, so it seems that 768 is the right value for me.

Anything on my Papyrus log?

start a new character with NO mods and get to riverwood, then save

enable 5 mods and test the game

keep doing this till you get a crash, one of those 5 mods that just caused the crash is the culprit

finish loading all your mods 5 at a time till you have loaded all of them

that's my best advice

I use NMM, so I don't have that "VirtualInstall" folder. Can I disable them all and still not mess with my current save, just for testing in a new game? Just disable the plugins?

I'll do that. It took me a lot of time to mod the game and, even after some tests, I had crashes only after 1~2 hours of gameplay (bad, but bearable).

I've played a little more this weekend and, after googling a lot about Papyrus and checking their logs after my CTD's, I've deactivated (MCM only, I know it's dangerous to uninstall mods mid-play) some mods and managed to run the game "ok" after I got stuck in travelling to Solitude. But then, after some time, I engaged into a fight with 4 dragons at the same time...

Everything was fine and nice, I even killed one of them. But then, I saved and crashed again. Now I can't even play for 15 seconds and boom. CTD again. Starting to ask if it's my graphics card SPM shows my GPU% bursting the 100% limit but the crash happen 5 seconds after that, and still, it's triggered when I attack the dragon (mainly with a bow).

After checking the log, I see that Papyrus was running ok, besides the flawed scripts that it always contains some errors. I mean, in the first CTD Frostfall had just been checked and the last line of the log is "Frostfall checks ok" (somethin' like that), different that the other crashes I had, where the last lines of the logs were similar between them.

But still, it's strange, even if I don't have a super rig, I've seen people with less powerful hardware play swiftly with lots of texture packages, 2k and all.
