Briraka
I'm going to be getting a new PC soon and i was wondering if I would I need more than the recommended 8 gigs of RAM on my computer if I'm planning on running SE with mods? It's not a very extensive load order (basically I have things like new weapons, monsters and areas to fill out lore discrepancies), but I have things like Static Mesh Improvement, Ruins Clutter Improved, Realistic Water Two, Deadly Spell Impacts, and Footprints in there. thumbincubation
IMO, get as much ram as you can, with as much room for future expansion as you can. Also, get the best GPU you can.
Briraka
I'd like to get the best computer that I could, but I would like to try and save as much money as I can. What I'm trying to ask is if 8 GB would be enough for a light load order since both the minimum and recommended requirements state that Skyrim SE need 8 GB to run. As for GPU, I have a 4GB AMD Radeon Pro WX3100 Workstation Graphics Card ready to go. Not sure how well it's going to run with those mods I listed and given that 90% of the mods I want are available for Legendary Edition, as well as some of them being better versions and are less complicated to set up than their SE counterparts, maybe I could just stick with LE at the risk of less stability and rain occlusion. thumbincubation
I'm running 8 g ram with a Nvidia GTX770, which I think is just 2gb. For the most part, I run smoothly on High settings, with some of the advanced options (God rays, etc.) turned off. I get some stutter in cities, like Whiterun, specifically when NPCs talk to me, and I crash pretty frequently in/around Riften, as well as occasional random crashes, which I think are related to the graphics card heating up, as the fan is almost always running fast, when it happens. If you have 8g and a 4g GPU, with some decent cooling, you may well run it better than I can.
Briraka
Alright, SE it is for me then. And if things work out, I could get more RAM to boot. Thanks for the info. Edited January 20, 2019 by Briraka
masternoxx
I would guess no, but what you need is for someone to run the game, and push ctrl alt delete, and see how much memory the game is using.and then on top of that you will need about 2.5 gigs ram for windows. Most memory of course is used by the HD texture pack.your resolution matters a lot. Higher resolution uses more ram. Edited January 21, 2019 by masternoxx
