Spyderlord
soooooo... is there a solution to this? I too am getting this error whenever I try to attach a script to an alias. I also get wacky errors when trying to add script properties in the editor in creation kit. I am trying to make an awesome quest line and this is the one thing in my way.trying to attach script 'defaultsetstageonplayeracquire' to a note alias for a courier. error; "script 'defaultsetstageonplayeracquire' had errors while loading, it will not be added to the object"Nevermind, I figured it out. If anyone else gets this error, also check to see if you get the warning; "scripts: data\scripts\"script name".pex : fatal: version number is too new. expected 3.1 or lower, found 3.2" pops up. If you don't just 'yes to all' and read through them a bit it makes sense; some of the scripts are updated but the ck isn't, therefore these scripts don't work in the ck and this creates the chain effect of their reference scripts not working either.Solution; Simply update your CK. Sometimes Steam for some reason won't update it automatically, right click and verify cache. Edited October 10, 2013 by Zaldiir
pncampbell
Apologies for the thread necro, but I have some insights into this problem having just solved it myself so putting my findings here so that the next person the google error will hopefully find this info of some use ... When you add a brand new script to an object CK creates an empty script and runs the papyrus compiler on it. CK then looks for the compiled script in <your skyrim dir>/Data/Scripts in order to add it to the object. This error can be caused by the papyrus compiler writing the compiled file to somewhere CK can not see it i.e. somewhere other than the root of /Scripts as above. Exactly why that is happening will depend on your individual setup but if you search for the .pex file for your new script (it will exists somewhere) its location should yield a clue as whats going wrong. I had the problem because of using CK in MO and using the 'Advanced Papyrus' wrapper and had the wrong output dir configured in the ini file. animecapture21
If you have SexLab installed go into your Scripts folder copy everything and then paste it into the Source folder. For some reason the new scripts keep getting saved into the Source folder and that is also where any new scripts will be saved. Found this out by trying to find the objectreference script which Creation Kit was saying did not exist. Hope this helped someone in need.
