How to increase the render distance in a worldspace

Well the problem is you have no LOD (Line of Distance) creating it is rather a pain. but here is a link to a video that could get you started and show you what you need to do

and this link will take you to the CK tutorial video list

creating LOD is a rather advanced procedure. there are multiple ways to do it (2 or 3 that i have found) which reminds me. here is another link to a project you might find helpful

One of the reasons LOD is such a *censored* is because you need a Heightmap to create a world LOD. Photoshop is the best program to use to produce a good heightmap. The Creation kit seldom lets you make a heightmap without crashing at some point. Even if you do make the heightmap the CK's LOD creating capabilities are moot. its best use Oscape (link here for Oscape:http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/41165) and Use of Oscape is outlined in the youtube tutorial video I initially linked. The process is a headache but rewarding if you get it right.

Hope this helps :) and sorry if my thoughts are all over the place. i just wrote what came to mind right away.

Along with lod, you may also want to increase the number of rendered uGrids, though be warned - If you aren't careful, it can corrupt saves.

Here's a tutorial: http://www.geforce.com/optimize/guides/five-fast-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-tweaks-guaranteed-to-make-your-game-look-even-better/

Its the last of the 5 tutorials, near the bottom of the page.

Haha. Thank you for leading down a path of headaches. =)

LOD is a huge headache and there's no guarantee you'll get it right (issues like black and purple spots on the landscape happen every now and then). I wish Bethesda had a bit more foresight into the LOD creation process (not all of us are trained software engineers). As far as the Ugrids go, that is risky from what I hear. Not only can it corrupt saves but you have to take into account your computers hardware. Logically, too many grids to load = game crashes depending on how good your computer is. When you are rendering a grid, you are rendering most of whats in that grid so it is very easy to overtax your computer.

True, I sometimes forget that people have worse hardware than me ;p
