OK went through the quest variables. Found out quite a few things;

nFinalState (script var from I could make you care), VstoryEventBoS (global var from the ncr & bos for the republic 2) and GetQuestCompleted for no gods, no masters determine most of Veronica's end slides/fate.

Also found a possible bug, on the 5th end slide;

"The Brotherhood's open aggression along the New Vegas highways troubled Veronica greatly. Nevertheless, it removed all doubt from her mind that in leaving them she had made the right choice. Eventually she would take to the road, less in hopes of finding a new home than of leaving memories of the old one behind her." it's supposed to be; convince veronica to join followers + complete No Gods, No Masters, but there's no condition to check for completing the No Gods quest.

And last of all, none of it makes any difference. I have never dismissed Veronica. But I had (mistakenly) assumed that if one dismissed her, where she returned to would depend on whether she decided to stay with the brotherhood, join the followers etc. But apparently it doesn't make any difference what so ever. According to the VNPCFollowersQuestSCRIPT, it's always back to the 188 regardless of the results of I could make you care, no gods or for the republic 2 quests etc.

If anyone has seen Veronica return somewhere else after being fired I'd appreciate it if they'd let me know how they completed the 3 quests above and where she returned to.

The upshot is it's probably just simplest to add a marker to the 188 for Christine and if she/they are fired that's where they go. That follows the vanilla/standard locations for Veronica when she's fired. So if no one objects I'm gonna go with that for simplicity and speed.

The other default position is Christine's and is (I would think) probably the Sierra Madre next to the vault elevator. That's a lot more cells to load to track them both down and rehire them.

On the upside, if we ever decide to alter the vanilla behavior (of being fired) to reflect the end slides it looks like it will be easy to do.

Also, I don't know if someone already mentioned this, but I thought of naming it something like "begin again" or "a chance to begin again" as befits the Sierra Madre theme, and a chance to start over for the girls.

Oh yeah definitely leaning towards "A Chance To Begin Again" myself. Loving the idea of reuniting them as well, always bothered me that it was very obvious that Christine was obviously the girl Veronica was separated from but that you couldn't tell her you met her in DM only that you had met Elijah.

as to your question of Veronica going anywhere else when dismissed....nope only going to the Lucky 38/Tops suite once you can send your companions there when you send them away from you.

Her script lists the 188 trading post (going to the lucky 38 isn't actually dismissed), in your game you dismiss her and she goes to teh tops?

She only ends up there if you side with the guy that shoots you in the opening movie...Benny I think his name is, but if you side with him against House you end up with the Tops suite you meet with him in functioning exactly like the Lucky 38 suite.

So yeah..not really dismissed just sent off to the home base. As far as I've seen, playing through from every possible faction angle (other than Legion) she always ends up at 188.

Just a question, and knowing how sci fi's go. What if the explosion in the vault didn't completely destroy it. So it is after the end slide that Christine requests your help to "finish the job" ??
