General Ysgramor Armor Talk

A few friends of mine are in the process of teaching me how to create custom armor and weapons for this game with the purpose being making ysgramor's armor from the statue. bare in mind its going to take me an eternity before i get this completely right but iv got nothing but time at my disposal and i know this is an armor set that has been requested on several forums iv seen so here goes. Im just looking for some suggestions on what would you like to see? i have a few ideas that ill post below for some perspective on things but how would you like to see this armor set in the game?

anyway here is what iv got so far.

-the armor is a 5 piece set, helmut, armor (although i have no idea how to do the back because that cloak covers it), gauntlets (well in this case its more like gauntlet as the left hand is the only one covered, the right hand is bare but with a bracer around the wrist), boots, and a cloak. each one having a farely high armor rating with the intention of it being the best armor in the game (afterall this is ysgramor's armor).

-its a set obtainable through dragon smithing as parts of the armor look almost like dragon scales so i guess it fits. the requirements being wolf armor, ancient nord armor, dragon scales, and wolf pelts.

-the color scheme im picturing being similar to the wolf armor, that kinda deep grey with the cloak being similar to the kilt portion of the amor, that kind of thing.

anyway thats what i have so far, im open to suggestion, and any other ideas are welcome.

thanks for the read.

Good luck with this. I can't wait. Please don't make the armor craftable though. The best things in the world can never be reproduced. This is an artifact. It should live in his tomb and be unique. If anything, put the original armor in his tomb and then make THAT an ingredient in the Ysgramor's Armor Reborn recipe at the forge if you want to polish it up, replace the rotten bits if leather and fur and so forth. Or alternately make a separate Replica Ysgramor's Armor with your proposed recipe, but give it lower stats than the real deal.

I thought about doing this once but decided I needed to try simpler things first until I had more experience. But I can tell you that if you unpack the meshes.bsa, you can find the statue mesh and open it in nifscope. Then you could export it, bring it into Blender and possible use it as a guide. Its pretty low-poly but that would be one way to at least nail the proportions.
