Full-screen question

Greetings!

I'm new to Skyrim (but not to the Elder Scrolls series), and had a question about all the mods/tweaks/info I keep seeing about running the game in a window/borderless window. Why? It seems to run just fine full-screen. I've actually had the game up literally all day (paused most of the time, but still) without a single crash. AND that's a heavily-modded game. Is it just because you can't reliably <ALT>-<TAB> out to check UESPWiki to check quest data or something? If so, that's a real non-issue since when I'm playing an ES game, I squash everything in the background and close all non-essential programs anyway.

Rochndil, looking forward to looting (err, burying respectfully) more dragon victims after he gets home...

Yeah, that's pretty much the main reason for running the game in a window. I mean, I'm sure there are some people who find the game runs better or more stable that way, but that depends a lot on their computer setup usually. But being able to ALT-TAB out of the window is useful if you're debugging or working on something else and playing the game in spare moments or such.

multi-tasking while playing game in window mode.

For example, While playing skyrim, I'm downloading something from internet, I'm also running a program converting pdf files to mp3, Running antivirus/malwarebytes full scan, I may be converting some more mp4 to mp3 files. I'm also doing making some fancy mp4 videos. Waiting for it to finish. All at the same time, I'm watching funny cat or ridiculous people doing at a gym videos on youtube.

All those programs running in the background, Not exactly 60fps on skyrim, but around 40s fps. good enough. It is still playable.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. I didn't THINK there was a technical reason to run in a window, but as I'm way late to the party, I wanted to make sure there wasn't something important I had missed. After combing through all the great mod offerings, I'm happy to be finally playing the game. Tonight I hope to buy my first house (and drop some of my junk) and grab my first permanent companion.

Rochndil, who still has to troubleshoot a minor SkyUI issue...
