Custom sword problem

Hi,

 

I'm kinda new to creating custom items. I was messing around with the Amber longsword mesh, to see if I could make a claymore version out of it. When I got it into the game, it seemed to work OK. When striking objects and opponents, the collisions seemed to be alright, but the problem occurs when I drop the Item on the floor. My sword seems to just stay in mid air, while my character continuously falls through the floor. I've tried importing just the sword model into an existing claymore.nif file and tried creating my own collision model. I would greatly appreciate any help. I've included the claymore.nif file I was working on. It uses the default amber longsword texture file.
