Nexus mod manager + steam overlay?

The problem is that in order to have a fully functional skyUI and the like, I have to launch SKSE, and I do not seem to be able then (should have mentioned that earlier...)

 

if I just launch it as skyrim normally, it resets all the mods

I may not have the same exact problem you mentioned, in that mine was that NMM refused to load the mods after clicking "Launch Skyrim" - Game would run, but no mods.

 

I tried this work around coz I was getting a little desperate

 

After downloading SKSE, it would appear in your Steamapps/common/skyrim folder, what I did was to load mods in NMM as per normal, and when I'm done, Launch Skyrim using the SKSE_loader.exe from steamapps. Not the most efficient method, but it worked.

 

After launching SKSE manualy, somehow NMM picked up the shortcut? And I could launch direct from NMM and still have both Steam Overlay + mods including SkyUI

 

Not sure if it'll work for you, but worth a shot I guess?
