Tolfdir tells me to stand in a certain spot and use a lesser ward to block his spell, I do this, with barely enough magicka to spare, and he tells me that I still need to put the ward up to block his spell so he doesn't hurt me. I really need to get into the college to complete the quest "Forbidden Legend" and to gain access to an area I can mine moonstone. I have tried using magicka potions, thus keeping my ward up for much longer and keeping it up even after he has cast his spell. No matter how long I keep the ward up, he continues to tell me that I need to keep the ward up and remains standing across from me with a fire spell prepared for a few moments. I am using Lesser Ward, the spell he gave me to use and I am absolutely certain I am standing in the correct spot, I am literally right on top of the white arrow indicator. Any help would be appreciated! Resoution: For anyone else who has this issue type the following into the console - setstage Mg01 200. Thank you very much to Brandy_123 for suggesting this solution! You already said you know for certain you are in the right spot. If nothing seems to work, console past the quest stage. If you've already done the walk around with Mirabelle and were then told to go find Tolfdir, then you really are stuck. Try this command from console. setstage MG01Pointer 200 This should pass you beyond the ward requirement and allow you to move towards the next quest (Under Saarthal) I hope this is not considered a spoiler, I am just trying to offer assistance.
