myrmaad
Thanks from me as well.Been trying to add long hair to my Gandalf character, couldn't figure out what i was doing wrong and now i know. Now he almost looks like he's supposed to.Can't find a robethat looks right.Did find his sword and staff tho. Thanks again.. I think I saw a robe, have you got another pic of exactly how you want it? Did you try Slof's RobeTrader? I may have seen something I thought might work in that stuff but I can't remember, I do try to keep a sample of them all on mannequins but I'm still collecting them. Glad I could help! Did you find the beard? I saw beards.

Did you find the beard? I saw beards.Hey,myrmad and moszibby.Yeah,i have a beard, tho i'd like it to be a little more unruly looking but oh well it works.I checked through all the robes i could find here and the one in the pic comes close. I like this robe but i'd like the red areas to be a lower value of white or gray.Nice texture on this robe tho. Tried to open the dds file in gimp here is a screen of what i got.I figured i could use the clone tool to copy the white tex from another part of the robe to the panels then shade it in but i'm not getting an image i can work with.Could it be that the surfacetexture is part of the mesh? Just curious which beard mod did you use, did you have to put it on a custom race?
gandalftw
Just curious which beard mod did you use, did you have to put it on a custom race?I used the Gandalf companion it adds a (nord) Gandalf race. You should see the female version, funny, bearded lady Gandalf.I got the gan version before the modder added the robe and staff.Don't like the added robe,it's just too white,no shading or indications of wear.I'm rambling...,I didn't use a beard mod just the race. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=12299
Curious002
Nice thread. Only way to read it is to press "force reload" of everything and then immediately "stop loading". Otherwise these super large images posted here will make the text and the answer button etc all scroll out to the right and for some reason there is no freaking horizontal scrollbar either. Grmpf. On my system they auto-reduce to fit the window, and then you have to click the image bar above the reduced image to see the full size. Your trouble has something to do with your browser settings, likely.

I might actually try him out on a different campaign (although it'd be fun to portray him as a Wise Counselor to my current main character, a rather flamboyant and over-the-top battle mage, or the Half-Elf I've just started out). Myrmaad's advice is sound, and besides Robe Trader is just one of Slofs' many accomplishments: I'm always impressed with the quality and substance of her work. Also, if you feel confident enough, a little retexturing with GIMP (since I'm assuming you've installed the DDS plugin alongside the Normal Map translator) of the current robe may actually help. For face textures - and this goes for Carah as well - I second the use of IFT for the age maps, in my opinion the effect is more balanced than with Natural Faces in most situations (handling both Bloom and HDR remarkably well). One thing worth mentioning is that the higher definition textures for well- estabilished body mods - case in point, Robert's and EC/HGEC - usually take IFT's mapping into consideration. In any way, always pick up what feels right for you.
