Hey there!

Hey everybody. I've been playing Skryim a lot recently, and remembered I owned an Oblivion disc for the pc. From there I remembered the option of modding, hacking, hexing, etc of pc games.

Anyways, I am looking to join a hack team that is still quite noobish, in which all of us can learn together how to model, render, code, etc...

If anyone can pont me in the direction, awesome! :)

Anyways I hope we can all work hard together!

Thanks~

Welcome

It's just modding. Hacking is a totally different thing and is not allowed here.

Bethesda Game Studios provides easy to use mod tools for most of their games on PC.

Since you have Oblivion, the first thing you want to do is download the Construction Set:

Here are tutorials on how to use it:

Get around the community and meet some people. They will surely help you out. :)

Also, have a fishy stick and enjoy your time here

Hey, thanks guys. I am still looking around for some people to work with, and some guides. I must say, though- those wiki links are quite overwheliming with information.

The first mistake that new modders seem to make is that they try to learn everything about anything. Don't, its too complicated for one single person to learn everything from scripting to making meshes.

Instead, try to choose one area that you are interested in. What mod do you want to make the most, that doesnt already exist? A new quest? A new armor? Game balancing? new spells? Then do that, and read up on everything in that area. Otherwise you won't even know what extra softwares you need (if any) aside from the toolset. After you have mastered one field somewhat, you can move onto another if you wish.

You can then state which "field" you which to work in here, and you should have an easier time finding people to guide you on the right path to get started.

Sounds like a plan. I have always been more interested with the graphics portion, and what I wish to do will indeed involve new graphics- it seems like 3D modeling woud be my first area of concern. I have looked into it, and heard of these words before- meshing, rigging, etc...

So I guess thats the first of my areas? I have blender downloaded, and am watching some video tutorials. Hopefully, I will reap some good experience in it.

Thanks! :)
