Companion Quest mod wanted

I am trying to find a mod developer that would develop a mod that would allow the player to become a companion and not be forced to become a werewolf. As it stands now, in order to complete all of the companion quests you are forced to become a werewolf. Once your are accepted into the companions and then get invited into the underforge after a few side quests for them you have to become a werewolf to complete the questline. I would like for the ability to refuse the werewolf blood and be able to finish the companion questline.

I hope that some others feel as I do that it should really be an option and not be forced to become a werewolf.

When does showing dishonor make one an honorable individual?

When reading through the harbinger's journal after he is killed by the silverhand it states that the "beast blood" has only plagued the companions for 300 years and only then through the deceit of the harbinger at the time. Before that incident of deceit from the Glenmoril witches the blood was pure. It states that for thousands of years the companions were not plagued by the "beast blood" and that came to be through deceit. Even an honorable person can be deceived as shown twice with the companions first the original act of deceit with the Glenmoril witches and second by Aela and Skjor in the underforge by not letting the harbinger know what they are doing. This seems like dishonor and not honor.

I agree with this.

Ascension in the ranks of an organization that's supposed to be about honor and glory should not be achieved through a daedric bloodbond, but rather through proven honor, loyalty and skill.

There are members of the Companions that aren't werewolves, but all of the Inner Circle members are. I don't think it would make sense to be able to gain the respect of all the Inner Circle members (esp Aela) without becoming a werewolf too.

It's not like it's irreversible. Become the Harbinger, then go get cured.

Well I disagree.

To me it seems only Aela and Skjor think it's necessary for would-be Circle members to become like them, which is why they do it in secret.

And for all they know it is irreversible, only Kodlak towards the end figures out a possible cure.

The Companions weren't always werewolves either, so it seems entirely plausible to me that you could point that out to them after earning their respect and blessing (the metaphorical one not the werewolf bl... I give myself headaches  ).

The one who brings all pieces of Wuuthrad together, killing countless Silver Hand members in the process, and achieves many other feats of greatness (main quest for example) should be considered worthy enough to advance in their ranks.

It seems that honor, feats of strength & skill through fighting and the ability to follow orders are the only traits that bring security and respect to the companions. Aside from that, when being a werewolf you are never able to get the "well rested" because of the beast blood. Also, the fact that the ritual Skjor and Aela perform are done without the harbingers knowledge is not honorable or respectful when looking from the harbingers point of view.

A possible solution for this would be a series of short quests specifically for a potential "Circle" member to prove loyalty, honor and valor under various conditions pertaining to the quest given. Possibly 5 short quests and then a quest involving the entire "Circle" to achieve an objective for the 'good of the companions' as a whole.

This to me would be more inline with the overall objectives of the companions rather than by use of deception behind the harbingers back.

The Companions are built on honor, valor, respect & strength and skill in combat. There is NO honor when Skjor & Aela bring a person without the harbingers knowledge into the the underforge to become a werewolf.

How is this act a show of respect when deception is involved?

Yes, this condition is reversible but at this point you do not know that for a fact. If you have spoken to the harbinger then you are aware that he is currently looking to find a cure that you needn't worry about it at this time.

Remember folks, the companions' history is tainted because of deception of a harbinger some 300 years in the past and now the time has come to remedy the problem. Hopefully the solution can be found without being forced to become a werewolf by another act of deception of the current harbinger Kodlak by two of his subordinates Aela & Skjor. By keeping this 'as is' the record is never clean because in the final act of deception by Aela & Skjor the absolute trust in a shield sibling is sullied. The final act of the Harbinger is to resolve and settle disputes among the lower ranking individuals and since the ability to inform the harbinger about this problem even if you choose to NOT become a werewolf can never be pursued because the dialog option(s) do not appear. Because of all of this I still ask that a mod be developed to correct all the the deception and keep the beastblood from being forced upon you,

It seems that there are several mod requests for the companions quest line(s) within the mod request thread. It may be time to rethink all of the mod requests for this mod and completely rewrite the entire quest set for the companions tweaking things throughout to include some of the many requests that are mentioned in the mod request thread. I for one still insist on NOT being forced to become an agent of hircine. Having read through some of the many requests for mods in this "Companion quest line" I find that many of the requests are reasonable and make this quest line more challenging and lore friendly. Also, may I ask that all of the mod requests for this quest line be arranged together for a more comprehensive view of all mod requests relating to the companions.

I keep my eyes open looking for the mod request here but I am disappointed that it seems very few here feel as strongly as I do. I still have hope that at least one or more of the 'Master modders' would take up the challenge to clean up the "Companion's previous beastblood problem' with the 'fix' to NOT be forced to drink the 'beastblood' to be part of the 'inner circle'. The ability to go past the stopping point by refusing the beastblood would be a vast improvement that would allow the 'cleansing of the companions' back to the 'pure' blood unhampered by the 'beastblood' problems that occur. ie comments by guards etc.
