How do you make non legit weapons appear in the game? I got a really overpowered weapon from someone. I'm not interested in overpowered weapons but I wondered if it's possible to make weapons have cool special effects that they didn't originally have.

By non legit you mean modified/non original? I don't think Borderlands is very modable at all, you're allowed to make, often wildly OP custom guns via WillowTree, and even use them online(its within the rules to mod your guns) but as far as I know there's no other potential for new mods or new effects, ie new elements or graphics. A few people did try other things, like playing as the Lance but as far as I know these, and almost all non-weapon based mods have been without success, as the game seems watertight against other mods.

By non legit I mean if you built it in gear calc it'd say non legit at the bottom. After work I'll post the save file with the overpowered gear on here.
