How do I move my BAIN folder?

Hi, my bain folder is quite huge now and my drive is almost full :/ Surely there is a way to move the folder to another drive and still have wrye bash use it right?

I can't download any more mods until I move my bash installers folder. How do I do it? I've searched google but no one seems to mention it. Does anyone know?

I figured I could change the directory in the bash_default.txt file. Here are the three settings I changed:<br><br>

sOblivionMods=G:\Oblivion Mods<br>
sInstallersData=G:\Oblivion Mods\Bash Installers\Bash<br>
sBashModData=G:\Oblivion Mods\Bash Mod Data

<br><br>Originally they all began with ".." which I replaced with "G:".<br><br>Bash's installer tab is now empty <img src="http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/sad.gif" class="bbc_emoticon" alt=":("><br><br>Edit : I changed the directorys then I moved the files, and the installers tab is empty. I restored everything and it's all back to normal.<br>

There will likely be some registry entries still pointing to the old location. You may be able to achieve what you want through the bash_default.txt edits and registry editing but understand this first ... registry editing can also cause a lot of problems for your entire Windows operating system. If you do try it backup your registry first and thoroughly document everything you do on paper to help you undo things if it turns out bad.

 

Something else to consider is uninstalling the game and related utilities and re-installing on your G drive if it has room for everything. Here's a link to Bben46's wiki article Oblivion reinstall procedure. Don't miss the link near the top of the page about moving your Steam install if you use the Steam version of the game and also don't skip the registry cleaning step, it's important (and especially in your case where the old registry entries will cause problems for the new install ... I know, ironic in light of my caveats about registry editing).

Wow, I didn't expect it to be so much work for such a simple thing. I'm surprised the developers of WB haven't though of including the option to specify the location of the bain folder.
