Suckerprise
I'm just curious. Is there another program I can use instead of Creation Kit? I've kinda had nothing but problems with it and was wondering if there was an alternative.
DarkRudra
A lot of things it can do can also be done in TES5Edit. The interface is very different and takes a bit to learn, but it is generally a much faster and more lightweight alternative.

NexusComa
TES5Edit - used to check if my mod set up correctly and is not using game files incorrectly.NifSkope - used to edit game .nif files.Gimp or Photoshop - to edit .dss files. LOOT9 - used to get the correct mod load order.BodySlde - used to set body type and scale. (also used get armor to fit perfectly if the armor has the BodySlide .xml files)TextureBlender and TextBlendLight- used to change body textures.GenerateFNIS_For_USER - used to add animations to Skyrim. Also used from time to time MergePlugins, SaveCleaner and BSA_Browser. The Creation Kit is a bear with a hard learning curve. But ... it is also a wonderful fully fleshed out Skyrim creation tool.I suggest you start out with a tutorial on how to make a player home. After you do a few of them you will feel muchmore comfortable in the CK.
